Hoseok knew Yoongi was already failing English class, which was totally embarrassing and beyond annoying. Now whenever they did their assignments, Yoongi turned himself completely away from Hoseok so that he couldn't see just how much he hadn't written. He wasn't going to let him have the satisfaction of knowing he needed help, much less accept it from him. And anyways, who did Hoseok think he was, trying to pretend like he was actually concerned for him? That dick could go step on a pile of Legos for all Yoongi cared.

"Can I turn the page?" Hoseok asked him, sounding a bit exhausted. It was so obvious he knew Yoongi was struggling, but he nodded his head anyways, allowing Hoseok to flip the page. Besides, it wasn't like he was ever going to catch up with him.

Yoongi watched out of the corner of his eye as Hoseok diligently worked through his final questions, answering each one with ease. He liked to pretend like he wasn't, but Hoseok was actually decently smart. It was like he didn't even have to try when it came to school work, and he usually finished his paper before everyone else had even gotten through the second half.

It was one of the many things Yoongi used to admire about him. Unlike Namjoon and Jin, who were also two of the smartest people he'd ever met, Hoseok didn't go around flaunting it. He didn't care about joining the student council and becoming a representative of the school, or ranking in the top one percent so that everyone knew just how smart he was. He had more important matters to worry about, like whether or not his favorite cinnamon bread would still be there by the time he got to the school cafe.

That was also why Yoongi didn't mind receiving help from him in the library that day. He'd tried doing his math homework with Namjoon a million times before, but instead of actually helping him, Namjoon just sort of answered all the questions himself. He also made Yoongi feel like a complete idiot for not being able to understand basic algebra, constantly telling him things like "This one is so easy", or "Anyone could do this". It was just a reminder of how all of his friends were going to be successful in life while he struggled just to get a high school diploma.

But Hoseok never made him feel that way once. He was always so sweet, and he got so excited whenever Yoongi answered a question correctly. Not to mention he gave little kisses as part of his reward system. If school were always like that, there was no doubt Yoongi would have straight A's. He had the most perfect teacher sitting just inches away from him, but he wasn't going to give in. That would only be another terrible mistake, leading to more heartbreak and hours of crying alone in his bedroom.

After another two minutes, Hoseok got up and walked his paper over to Mr. Baek's desk, Namjoon and his partner following him almost immediately afterwards. Usually everyone turned their work in along with the person sitting next to them, but Hoseok was always alone. Yoongi was sure the entire class had noticed, but no one ever said anything.

When Hoseok sat back down, he reached into his bag and pulled out a black and white sheet of paper with a troll on it, little hearts surrounding it everywhere and the words "I love you" written in bold letters at the top. He then proceeded to color in its messy hair with a neon pink marker, resting both of his elbows on the table and blowing his hair out of his eyes as he leaned down.

Yoongi was openly glaring at him now, his eyes switching back and forth between Hoseok and the coloring sheet. He knew Hoseok had always been a little strange, but this was something he would have never expected to see happening, especially not in the middle of a high school classroom. What was he even trying to do, send him subliminal messages now? This was just getting pathetic.

"What the hell is that?" he asked him, watching as he snapped the cap onto his pink marker and twisted open a purple one.

"A coloring sheet," Hoseok muttered, not even bothering to look back at him.
