Hoseok spent the entire day thinking about his feelings for Jin. He had no clue as to what they were, or if they even existed at all. Kissing him had been fun the first time around, but now it just felt weird, and he had no idea why.
What made it worse was that Jin seemed to feel the exact opposite. He'd told Hoseok on the night of the meteor shower that he had liked him for a long time, but never said anything because he was too afraid. If Hoseok was being honest, he'd never seen Jin as anything more than a best friend, and that probably wasn't going to change (even if Jin was a surprisingly good kisser). He decided right then and there in biology class that he needed to tell Jin how he really felt, otherwise things would just get worse.
Jin was waiting for him outside his classroom, just like he always did. The only thing that had changed was that Jin grabbed his hand and laced his fingers with his when he came out now.
Their long school day was finally over, and Hoseok was more than ready to go home, but he needed to talk to Jin first.
"Jin," he said, stopping in the middle of the hallway. Jin watched as people tried to walk around them, then pulled Hoseok off to the side.
"What is it?" he asked in a low voice. He was standing so close to him, and Hoseok could feel his nerves creeping up. "I have to get to my meeting, so make it quick."
Oh, right, the meeting! Hoseok had completely forgotten about it, which meant that this probably wasn't best time to try and have a deep conversation with him anyways.
"I'll call you about it later, then," Hoseok said, feeling a wave of relief wash over him. He could finally go home and think about what he was going to say. "See you tomorrow!"
"Hey!" Jin grabbed his wrist to stop him from turning around. Hoseok instantly felt bad for being so eager to leave him, but this whole day had just been a mess. "I thought you said you were going to come meet Namjoon's friend. He already told him you would show him around the school."
Damn. Hoseok had been hoping he could get out of that one and just pretend like he forgot, but now it looked like he was going to be forced to hang out with some random guy for an hour. Great.
"Right," he said, forcing a laugh. "I guess we should head over then." Jin nodded and made a face that said "obviously", and then took Hoseok by the hand. Hoseok wasn't sure if he would ever get used to having to keep up with Jin's speed-walking. It wasn't even like the student council room was that far away either.
"We're here!" he announced as they walked through the doors. They had been the last ones to arrive, while everyone else had already taken their seats. Hoseok had never really cared about being late, but he knew it was a very big deal to Jin, who was a born- perfectionist.
"Great!" Namjoon said, beaming from across the room. "Let's get the meeting started, then! Oh, and Yoongi," he turned to the boy sitting next to him, "that's Hobi over there. He'll show you where to find your classes for tomorrow."
The boy looked up at him, their eyes meeting for the first time. This was the guy he had to hang out with?
Ok, so Hoseok wasn't expecting him to be hot. And he wasn't hot in the supermodel kind of way like Jin was either, he was hot in that dark, mysterious kind of way. He was dressed in all black, and his wavy hair was so long that it nearly brushed the tips of his eyelashes. He had a face that almost looked like it said he didn't wanna be there, but then again, neither did Hoseok. When the boy got up and started walking towards him, Hoseok immediately started getting nervous.
"Hi, I'm Yoongi," he said, crossing his arms. His voice was extremely low and quiet, and it was honestly kind of intimidating. "Nice to meet you."
Hoseok had been so busy staring into his eyes that he almost forgot how to speak.
"Hoseok," he said quickly, trying to shake off the sudden nerves. "But everyone usually just calls me Hobi. Nice to meet you too."
Hoseok could have sworn he saw the slightest grin creep onto Yoongi's face, but before he could look any closer, Yoongi stepped in front of him and walked out the classroom. Was he supposed to follow?
He turned behind him, Namjoon and Jin waving at him to leave. It would just be the two of them together now. He could already tell he was going to be totally awkward.
"I like your hair," Yoongi said to him when he finally shut the door to the classroom. Hoseok's heart nearly stopped working, as did his brain.
"My hair?" he repeated, running his fingers through it and looking up towards his bangs. No one had ever told him that before.
"Yeah," Yoongi said, his tone a bit too serious. "Red is a good color on you."
Hoseok instantly felt a rush of happiness run through him. He liked his hair! He knew his face must have turned bright red, but Yoongi didn't seem to notice, or at least he pretended not to.
"Thanks," he said, trying to hold back from smiling too much. "I like your hair too." Hoseok almost wanted to reach out and touch it, but his brain was at least working enough to know that would be weird.
"Really?" Yoongi said, letting out a little laugh that oddly didn't match his whole "dark" persona at all. "There's nothing special about it, though. I didn't dye it a cool color like you."
Oh no, was it weird that he told him that? Hoseok's heart was racing so fast that he felt like he had just ran a mile. What was he supposed to say now?
Luckily, he didn't have to say anything because Yoongi spoke instead. "Anyways, let's go find my first class," he said, already walking ahead of him, but Hoseok watched him for a second before going along with him. He walked with such force, and Hoseok thought it was so cool.
Yoongi was a bit shorter than him, which he liked. Hoseok also didn't know such an intimidating person could have such an adorable smile, and he really needed to see it again.
Yoongi looked back at Hoseok, still standing there. "You coming? I'm not gonna find these classes on my own, you know. I kinda get lost easily..."
Hoseok nodded his head and started walking quickly. He needed to pull himself together.
"So why'd you transfer here anyways?" Hoseok asked, taking Yoongi's schedule and reading it as they walked. "I mean, if you don't mind me asking, that is."
"I don't mind," he said calmly, putting his hands in the pockets of his sweater. Hoseok almost got chills, his voice was so deep. "We just had issues with my other school. Namjoon's parents have always been friends of ours, so they recommended I come here."
"Ah, I see," Hoseok said. He didn't really know how to respond. What kind of issues was he talking about? "That's your first classroom over there by the way. It's right next- door to mine actually."
"Cool, I'll try to remember where it is," Yoongi laughed again. There was the smile he wanted to see, but it almost seemed forced, and Hoseok knew about fake smiles all too well.
"If you want, I can meet you before school starts tomorrow and you can walk with me," Hoseok offered. He didn't know how Jin would feel about it, but he was hoping he wouldn't mind.
"Nah, you don't have to do that," he replied. "I actually think I'm just gonna head out, but thanks for showing me around and stuff."
"What? But what about your other classes? How are you gonna find them?"
"I'll figure it out. See ya!"
Hoseok watched as he walked back down the hallway and left out the doors. He hadn't even stopped to say goodbye to anyone. Who was this guy?
