"Are you sure this is a good idea?"
Yoongi groaned and leaned his head into the table, an overly concerned Namjoon gazing at him from the other side. How many times was he going to ask him this?
"For the last time, Joon, it's fine. Besides, what other choice do I have?"
It was Thursday afternoon, the day before their papers were due, and the two of them sat at the kitchen table waiting for none other than Hoseok to arrive at their door. If Yoongi was being honest, he was beyond nervous, but there was no way he was going to let Namjoon know that.
"But why does it have to be here?" Namjoon asked for the millionth time, taking some of the Lucky Charms they'd set on the table and pouring them into his hand.
First of all, Yoongi wasn't going to meet him in the library, because that was where they'd made out far too intensely in a pitch black thunder storm; no one needed to be reminded of that. Second of all, there was no way in hell he would step foot in Hoseok's place, because that was where they'd... done other things. Yoongi really didn't need to be reminded of that.
"Because it just does," he replied stubbornly, picking out the marshmallows from his cereal.
The two of them had changed out of their school uniforms as soon as they got home, throwing on oversized graphic tee-shirts and black sweatpants. Normally, they'd be having their (usually unhealthy) afternoon snack by the TV, watching the last hour of cartoons before the adult programming started. Today was different; there was an unsettling feeling of suspense in the air, and the sound of the clock ticking behind Namjoon's head was forcing Yoongi's stomach to do flips. He wanted to sink into the floor, wishing he could disappear into thin air, but he still remained seated in his chair.
Hoseok had never been to his and Namjoon's house. In fact, Yoongi hadn't even bothered to tell him that he was living with Namjoon while they were together. He thought Hoseok had only just found out when Yoongi texted him where to meet up the night before, but then Namjoon had informed him that he'd already known about his living situation for a long time. Yoongi couldn't help but wonder if Hoseok had been mad about him keeping it a secret, even though he never told him that he knew.
"By the way, Jin is spending the night," Namjoon said, which immediately caused Yoongi to let out a very deep sigh.
"Oh god, remind me to sleep with my airpods in tonight then," Yoongi said, wearing an expression of disgust. There was no doubt that Yoongi loved Namjoon and Jin greatly, but their "sleepovers" had definitely traumatized him more than a few times now.
"Oh please, we're not that loud," Namjoon laughed, a not so innocent grin spreading onto his face. Before Yoongi could full- heartedly disagree with that statement, the doorbell rang.
"Fuck," Yoongi said, looking at the mess of cereal they'd made surrounding them. Namjoon looked back at him, frozen in place as he was stuffing cereal into his mouth. Then Yoongi looked down at his T-shirt, a picture of two t-rexes playing twister against a white background, and the words "Obey" written across the leg of his sweatpants.
"Where's my hoodie?" he said quickly, his eyes darting across the room back and forth. "I need my hoodie."
"I dunno, wherever you left it," Namjoon shrugged, still stuffing cereal into his mouth. Yoongi's heart was racing, about to pump out of his chest, and he could feel himself beginning to panic. Not good.
"Dammit, Joon, get the hell up and help me find my stupid hoodie!" Yoongi exclaimed. He had a bad habit of cursing when he was nervous, and Namjoon was fully aware of this. Without hesitation, he joined Yoongi in his rapid search for his favorite black hoodie, tossing couch cushions to the floor and checking the other rooms.
