- Lola's POV -
Me, Philip, Lilah and Dave got a taxi to The Black Swan. I was shaking with fear as we turned the corner onto Baker Street, Lilah smiled at me reassuringly.
We exited the taxi and walked up to the busy bar, opening the doors and automatically being hit by loud music and lots of voices talking over each other. It was very crowded, like always.
Lilah and Dave took each other's hand and walked to the bar while Philip stood beside me.
"Do you want me to stay with you?" He said slightly louder over the music. I shook my head.
"No really I'm fine! Go get a drink I'll find us a seat!" I shouted with a smile, he nodded and joined Lilah and Dave at the bar.
Just as I was searching for a seat, a group of old men got up from the corner sofas and left. I ran quickly and claimed the table. As soon as I sat down I had my eyes wide open looking for Joseph. There were a lot more people behind the bar tonight.
Lilah walked over to me with some drinks in her hand, she set them down on the table then sat facing me.
"Do you see him yet?" She asked before glancing around the room.
"Nope. Maybe he isn't working tonight" I said with a frown.
"Saturday is the busiest night for this bar. He has to be!"
Dave and Philip approached us a few minutes after and sat down at the table. We began to chat about random things, but I was still nervously searching the room for Joseph.
Then I spotted his girlfriend.
She was sitting in the other corner of the bar with all her slutty friends. They were laughing and sipping wine, I rolled my eyes.
Then suddenly I saw Joseph stumbling out from the back of the bar with a drink in his hand. He walked over to his friends and started chatting to them.
"Lola are you even listening to my question?" Philip said loudly, I jumped slightly and turned to face him.
"Sorry, what did you say?" I shouted, he rolled his eyes and began talking to Lilah again. Who was already downing her drinks.
Then suddenly there was a loud voice shouting all over the bar.
"Joseph! Fucking listen to me!" His girlfriend screamed across the table she was sitting at. But he made no effort of turning to face her. She got up and trotted over to him in her stilettos.
"Hey excuse me?! Your girlfriend is speaking to you!" She shouted in his face, he stared at her angrily.
"I'm fed up!" He screamed loudly at her. The whole bar was watching at this moment, my heart was racing.
"I'm so fed up with you Stephanie! I'm fed up of how you treat me and the way you act around me! I'm not your fucking pet okay?" He shouted. Anyone could tell he was overly drunk, even though it was only 11:30pm.
"Oh really? What're you going to do about it then? You're so useless you know that? I don't even need you!" She shouted louder at him. All of his friends backed away in shock, even the music was paused. This seemed like better entertainment than anything else.
"I'm d-done" He stuttered. She raised an eyebrow at him then slapped him across the face. Some people were gasping.
"Lola I think we should leave" Lilah said quietly, but I didn't listen.
"I never even loved you anyway! You worthless piece of shit!" Stephanie shouted before Joseph stormed out of the bar. I wasn't thinking straight so I ran after him.
"Lola where the hell are you going!" Dave shouted, but I couldn't hear anyone anymore as I was outside. Watching Joseph stumble down the street while crying.
"J-Joseph!" I shouted, but he wouldn't listen. I began to run after him while my heart was beating faster and faster as I got closer to him. He sat down on a bench and cried into his hands.
"Hey.." I said quietly while sitting down beside him, he wasn't listening to me at all.
I slowly put my hand on his leg and sighed.
"I'm sorry for what she did.."
He stopped sobbing and looked up at me. That stare broke my heart. The perfect guy I had been dreaming of was hurt. I bit my lip to stop myself from crying.
"W-who are you" He stuttered.
"I'm Lola. Nice to meet you, I guess?" I said as my red cheeks appeared once again. He smiled slightly and looked down to the ground.
"I was never happy with her anyway" He sighed loudly while trying to hold back his tears.
"It's okay to cry you know, it lets everything out sometimes" I whispered while looking away.
"I know I'm sort of a stranger. But can I please have a hug?" He said while slightly laughing. I started to shake nervously before I nodded. He held out his arms and pulled me in for probably one of the best hugs I had ever had in my whole life. I rubbed his back while we hugged and sighed.
"It's going to be okay, you know that right?" I asked while breaking the silence.
"Maybe it will be"
