- Joseph's POV -
I woke up at 9:30am eager to face the day, I'm never like this.
I got dressed quickly and headed down the stairs and out into the bar, there was a few people in it which was surprising.
"Morning Joseph!" My dad shouted as soon as I caught his eye. He was in a good mood today.
"I think it's time for you to have your job back" He said while putting his hand on my shoulder, I was shocked.
"Really?!" I said excitedly. He nodded and walked around the bar.
"Why don't you start at 10:00am?" He asked as he poured someone a drink, but then I realised I had plans for this morning.
"Actually I can't. I have plans" I muttered. My dad stared at me angrily.
"You've been begging for this job back and when you get it back you turn it down?" He raised his voice as he spoke. I do have plans and I want to stick to them. I promised Lola I would see her today as she gets a day off college to rest.
"I'm sorry" I whispered before walking out of the bar while everyone stared at me, I wasn't embarrassed or ashamed. I was smiling because I was doing what I wanted, when I never do that.
I got into my car and drove in the direction of Lola's house, I can't wait to see her.
As soon as I parked my car outside her house my heart began to beat faster, it's never done that before. Was I nervous? Nervous to see a girl? That's unlike me.
Then I remembered how Lola acted around her mum when I appeared at the hospital last night, maybe I shouldn't go to the front door..
I got out of my car and approached the house. I need to find another way in.
I glanced up at the bedroom windows and saw one of the bedrooms had pink spotty curtains, this has to be Lola's bedroom. I snook up to the side of the house and grabbed some small stones off the ground and began to throw them at the window.
This is too risky.
Suddenly the curtains began to move and then open. Lola's face appeared at the window and she instantly smiled, it sort of melted my heart.
"What are you doing here!" She shouted out the window, I giggled at the state of her hair.
"I told you I would find a way to see you" I said with a grin. Suddenly the front door of the house slammed shut, I dropped to the ground behind some plants so I wasn't seen and Lola closed her window quickly.
It was her mum getting into her car and driving off, I'm guessing she is going to work.
Then Lola's window opened again, she laughed at me lying on the ground.
"I'm home alone now, come through the front door!" She shouted. I nodded and got up from the dirty pavement.
