- Lola's POV -

I got off the train and skipped home, thinking about Joseph the whole way. As I approached my house I saw my mum putting balloons on the front door.. The party! I forgot!

"Lola you're home!" My mum shouted before turning around and giving me a hug. I pulled away quickly and smiled.

"When is the party starting?" I asked.

"An hour or so. You better go get ready!" She said enthusiastically, I sighed and walked into the house. I am really not looking forward to this party.

Instead of wearing black like I always do, I decided to wear a dark blue tight dress with some cute sandals. I curled my hair and put a little bit more make up on than usual, I wanted to look better than Leah. Yes I really did say that.

I heard the voices of people downstairs, great everyone is arriving now..

I headed downstairs to see a few people standing in the living room chatting while my mum was setting out more food.

"Lola can you help me with the food?" My mum asked, I nodded and walked into the kitchen. I wanted to look like a cool waitress so I balanced three plates on my arms while walking out to the living room, then Leah caught my eye.

"Lola! I haven't seen you since school!" She shouted with a smile on her face. I set down the plates on the coffee table then walked over to her.

"Hey Leah, so nice of you to come" I said politely while biting my tongue. I hate this girl.

"Well of course I would. It is my mums party after all" She said while flicking her blonde hair back and looking around the room. I rolled my eyes.

She looked so stunning. She wore a long red glittery dress and her make up was flawless. Fuck my life.

It was starting to get a bit crowded so I left the room and stood in the hall for a minute. Then I realised I told Joseph I would see him later.. But I can't!

I grabbed my phone and began to text him.

"Joseph I'm sorry! I totally forgot that my mum is having a party tonight so I won't be able to-"

"Lola get off your phone!" My mum shouted before snatching my phone off me and putting it in her back pocket, shit!

"Mum give me it back I was just doing something" I said calmly, she shook her head.

"This party is more important at the minute! Oh look who just arrived!" She shouted. I glanced over to the door to see Callum and his snobby parents walking through the front door.

Could this day get any worse?!

"Lola!" Callum shouted with a huge smile, I took a deep breath in and smiled at him.

"Hello Callum.. How are you?"

"Great now that I've seen your face" He said as he approached me, dear god that was embarrassing but I laughed it off.

"I'll leave you two love birds" My mum said before she headed back to the group of people in the living room. I sighed.

"You look beautiful" He said, I smiled at him.

"That's sweet of you Callum, thanks" I said holding back my anger and frustration.

Everyone then had dinner and it was lovely, my mum is a great cook. There was around 30 people in my house and it was getting too much for me, I really needed my phone back.

I walked out the front door to get some fresh air, I was feeling really panicky with all the people inside. It was already dark out but I didn't mind.

"Lola where are you going!" Callum shouted from the front door, he came out and closed it behind him. Please I just need time alone! Why doesn't anybody understand?

"I'm fine really" I muttered as he approached me.

Callum stood awkwardly in front of me as I gazed around. I'm so fed up with all this human interaction I have been forced to have today.

Then Callum suddenly put his hand under my chin and pushed my head up so I was looking at him. Um, what are you doing?

He just stared into my eyes for a while but then he started to get closer.. Wait, is he going to kiss me?!

Our lips were almost touching when..

"Lola?" A posh english voice shouted from the bottom of my drive way. Callum stopped what he was doing and glanced down, I turned my head to see Joseph standing there.

Did he just see what Callum was doing?

He looked angry and upset.

"Joseph! I-it's not what you think" I stuttered, I began to walk towards him but he took a step back.

"He was just about to kiss you!" He shouted, I was shaking in fear. Callum stood there in confusion.

"I know he was but I didn't want to I promise.." I said quietly but he said nothing. He stared at Callum angrily.

"Joseph please!"

"I can't believe you" Joseph muttered, what have I done.

"What do you mean? I don't want Callum I don't even fucking like him!" I shouted angrily, I had lost it. Joseph just stared down at me.

"I've always wanted you! I've always liked you since the day you took Lilah's order when she was drunk out of her mind. I've never stopped thinking about you for months and your hugs are what I live for! Why the fuck would I kiss anyone else?! I'm sorry that you're upset but-"

But then I was interrupted by the sweet feeling of his lips on mine. My breathing began to go weird as I was hyperventilating inside but that was fine. Everything was fine.

He kissed me as if he was waiting forever to be able to do it. I felt so much love just by one action until he pulled away and gazed into my eyes.

"I-um" I mumbled, what the fuck was I suppose to say after that?!

"I think I love you" Joseph whispered as our foreheads pressed against each other and he pushed my curly hair from my face.

"I think I love you too.."
