- Joseph's POV -
There was an awkward silence after I confessed my whole relationship with Stephanie. It hurts but it's true.
It all started with a one night stand over a year ago, I didn't know that her parents were close friends with my dad. After that happened we began to talk and be friends but she was very demanding and I felt like I didn't have a choice or a say in anything when I was around her.
Then when I found out her mum and dad were best friends with my dad it got worse, she started to use me and I felt like shit every time.
Then the night came when her parents invited me and my dad over for dinner. She asked me to be her boyfriend in front of them so I had no choice to say yes! I was so unhappy then.
Suddenly all my hideous flash backs disappeared when a hand was placed on top of mine. I turned around to see Lola smiling sympathetically back at me.
"I-I'm sorry you were treated like that, you didn't deserve it at all" She said with a frown. I couldn't help but just stare at her, I could see in her eyes how much she cared but I didn't understand.
Why does she care so much?
"Thank you" I whispered as I gazed into her eyes for a little longer. She never broke eye contact either which made everything better.
Suddenly Lola's phone which was sitting beside us began to ring loudly, she lifted it up and answered it.
"Hello?" She said while taking her hand away from mine.
"Sorry mum, I got caught up in more college work. I'll be home soon!"
She hung up the phone and sighed.
"Do you want me to drive you home?" I asked, she nodded and we made are way back down the rocks.
- Lola's POV -
I went first when climbing down the steep dangerous rocks that we sat on, which was a bad idea. Boots are not good for climbing in.
I was almost at the ground when some rocks suddenly fell from under my feet which made me loose my balance. I let go by accident and slipped down the rock, hitting my head on the way down.
"Lola!" Joseph screamed in fright. He didn't even bother to climb down the rock, he took two steps then jumped which hurt his feet and legs.
I lay on the sand below the rock. My head felt really dizzy but I didn't know what to do or how to help myself, so I just lay there.
Joseph knelt down beside me and carefully lifted me onto his lap, he stated at the place which hurt on my head.
"It's not so bad. But how are you feeling?" He said nervously. It looked like he was really scared, that's the first time I've seen emotion in his face.
"I'm fine just a little bit dizzy" I said while looking up at him. He carefully lifted me up and carried me to the car, I felt like an injured princess.
When we got to the car he set me in the back seat and put on my seat belt, I was in a daze but I could still see everything that was happening. Before closing the car door he kissed the top of my head.
"I'll get you home Lola" Joseph said while beginning to drive.
But he can't take me home, my mum can't know who he is. She'll start to question him about how I hurt my head and where he came from.
If she finds out he works in a bar I'll probably never see him again.
"Y-you can just drop me off at the bottom of my street" I stuttered. Joseph looked into the mirror and sighed.
"Okay, but I'm walking you from there" He said.
We pulled up at the end of my street and he helped me out of the car.
"Joseph, really I'm fine" I muttered as he held my arm for support. But he didn't listen.
"You better tell your parents that you're hurt. I'll be worrying about you" He said sadly. I looked up at him with a smile.
We reached my drive way and he pulled me in for a hug. I feel so protected when he hugs me, it's because I'm so small and he is so tall. My head sits perfectly on his chest and I can hear his heart beating, ugh.
"Take care of yourself" He whispered before I walked away. He sat in his car until I got into my house.
