- Lola's POV -

I grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl which sat on my kitchen table before I left to get my train for college. I was so excited to see Joseph today, he was actually waiting for me.

I zipped up my coat and walked towards the front door to leave.

"By the way Lola.." My mum said, she looked up from the magazine she was reading and smiled.

"I'll be picking you up from college today"

"No! You don't need to! I'm going somewhere anyways" I shouted, she stared at me weirdly.

"You're going no where. Callum is coming round to see you, so I will pick you up and bring you home" She said like she wasn't waiting for an answer. I sighed loudly and stormed out.

How the hell am I going to see Joseph now?

Callum is the posh boy from church, apparently he likes me. That's what my mum says all the time.

"You would be a great couple! He is very smart!" She always says, I rolled my eyes as I walked to the train station. I really need to see Joseph, I promised I would be back today..

In class I told Ruby all about Joseph and about the things that happened on Saturday night.

"Wow, I'm happy for you! He sounds lovely" She said with a wide smile. Everyone is taking this so seriously when in reality we aren't even friends yet. I'd say we are strangers who have spoke a few times.

I am not looking forward to later though, I really don't like Callum.

He is the loudest person to sing the hymns in church and he says the prayer every Sunday. He is really snobby too, I don't know why or how he likes me.

After college was over I waited outside for my mum to pick me up. I could've been on my way to see Joseph right now, ugh.

My mums car pulled up and she beeped the horn, I AM SO EMBARRASSED. I got in quickly and kept my head down as people stared.

"Why did you beep the horn?!" I shouted with my head in my hands. She did nothing but laugh as we drove away.

"So why is Callum coming to see me?" I asked while taking off my bag and putting my seat belt on.

"He wants to see you!"

"Why?"

"He likes you Lola, isn't that sweet?" My mum said with a smile, I rolled my eyes and glanced out the window. I realised that we were driving down Baker Street, why is this happening.

As we drove passed The Black Swan my face was pressed against the car window. The bar looked deserted like always.

We got home and I ran up to my room in a huff, I shouldn't be home already. I had a minute or so to fix my hair and look presentable before Callum got here. I don't know why I was even trying, I dislike the guy.

"Callum is here!" My mum shouted, I sighed in the mirror at myself before walking slowly down the stairs to see Callum standing at the bottom in formal clothing. It's a normal Wednesday afternoon, why is he all dressed up?

"Lola! Hi!" He said enthusiastically with a huge smile. I bit my lip trying to hold back my laughter. He gave me a huge hug as soon as I approached him.

This was not a pleasant hug.

Over his shoulder stood my mum smiling like an idiot. Someone seriously save me.

"Let's go sit outside shall we?" He asked poshly. I nodded and followed him out to the back garden.

When we got there we sat on the wooden bench which was in the middle of the garden surrounded by the flowers. It's very pretty.

"Your garden is lovely" Callum commented. I smiled and thanked him. I felt so awkward, we had nothing to talk about because we have nothing in common. We just sat there in silence.

"So.. What's your favourite song to sing?" He asked before turning to face me. I thought for a moment, I really do like to sing but not around people. I'm not that good.

"I'm not sure. I have a lot of songs I like" I said thoughtfully. He nodded and told me about his favourite songs, they were all religious.

I'd rather listen to heavy metal about monsters in people's heads than about Jesus. That's only my opinion obviously.

He just kept awkwardly staring at me and smiling, please stop.
