Violet POV:

"I always knew there was something off about you, Violet Sasaki." Kaito chuckled darkly, as he emerged from the shadows of the jail cell and caught me in a lie.

In similar Violet fashion, I drew an immediate blank of panic on how to respond, staring at Kaito in silence for a moment as my head had a freak out.

Quite honestly, I think the freak out is justified this time. I mean, what can I say to this? How can I explain myself when the entire scene looks this bad?

Endeavor's jail cell is open. My mask is off. And, not to mention-one of his handcuffs has been destroyed.

But luckily, Kaito can't see that just yet, with how dark the room was.

"O-Oh. Me?" I uttered raspily, feeling an involuntary urge of word vomit and profuse apologies want to creep it's way up my throat.

However, as I said earlier, and as Endeavor noticed....I've been experiencing a lot of changes within myself recently. Which is why I was able to stop the word vomit, before it could come out and actually take the time to come up with a coherent answer instead.

"Well, I don't think so. I was just checking on the prisoner, remember? You gave me permission to come in here." I said calmly, feeling my heart pounding aggressively in my chest as I subtly switched my position to cover Endeavor's ruined, broken handcuff.

However, as genuinely subtle as I was able to be, Kaito seemed to pick up on my actions....smirking darkly as he slowly began making his way towards Endeavor and I.

"Really now? And how is the prisoner doing?" He asked condescendingly, holding his yellow gaze on me intensely as he walked towards Endeavor.

Crap. If he comes any closer, he's gonna notice the broken handcuff. It looks like I'll need to go with a new strategy, in order to save both our asses.

Oof. I did say you had to trust me, Endeavor. I really hope you can right now.

"Actually, not too good. He ended up breaking free from one of his restraints." I said quickly before Kaito caught me in a bigger lie, internally shrieking, crying, and throwing up when Endeavor did not understand what I was doing.

"What?!" He boomed out from behind me raspily, causing me to resist the urge to look back at him and start panic sobbing profusely.

The smug look from Kaito's eyes immediately dissipated into concern for my words. Concern for his own well being as he quickly shoved me out of the way of Endeavor.

"The fuck?" Kaito grunted as he assessed Endeavor's freed wrist, letting out a string of curses under his breath as he was supposed to be on watch duty with the Number One Hero.

I watched uneasy as Endeavor looked up at Kaito with a defiant smirk, spitting more blood from his mouth onto the floor as he spoke.

"You'll never be able to defeat me, villain. The first thing I'll do when I get out of here, is put you behind bars." The Number One Hero stated victoriously, causing Kaito to run a distracted hand of panic through his hair as he kept his eyes locked on the ruined handcuff.

I remained stick still a few feet away from the pair, hoping I'd be able to just blend into the background and be allowed to go as soon as possible.

But, apparently Kaito had other ideas-ideas that involved taking out his self frustration on me, and taking the blame off himself.

Seeming more afraid of what Midas would do to him, than any threats from Endeavor, Kaito immediately turned on his heel and stormed his way over to me-eyes wild with fury, before his hand came around my throat in an instant.
