Violet POV:

In a matter of minutes, it felt like the apocalypse had started.

Midas gave his speech no less than thirty minutes ago and already the city was in shambles. The streets were crowded with panicked, angry civilians, and the buses had been abandoned by their drivers out of fear, forcing me to run a good five miles to the nearest working one.

Protests had started to gather outside the HPSC Headquarters, demanding answers about Endeavor. Touya. The ethicality of hero society itself.

Sirens had started to go off in waves by the time I reached the front door of my apartment, feeling life as we know it shifting before my very eyes in a matter of one day. No-one single hour.

The world was ending. Or, at least, the country of Japan was.

No man should be powerful enough to shake an entire nation and bring it to its knees through words. And, yet, Midas did it. Not with me or anyone else, but alone.

It's almost like he's stronger alone. He's stronger when he's angry, and that's terrifying.

And Touya. Oh god, Touya.

Three missed calls to his phone and I'd started to panic. I have no way to predict how he could have taken his reveal-the reveal that didn't even come from his own mouth.

Part of me is worried his anger made him reckless. Perhaps, he's already halfway to Midas' place right now, falling right into the jeweled man's trap and giving him a battle to the death like he so desires.

Maybe this triggered something in him to shut down again and leave. I don't know.

But, the entire world knows his identity now. And it's only going to make things that much harder. For everyone.

"Touya! Touya, are you here?!" I threw the door open, ripping off my jacket and walking into the apartment.

Silence.

All the lights were off in the kitchen, and so was the television. If it weren't for the little dim light coming from my room, I'd think no one was home.

"God damn it!" I heard him yell from the bedroom, feeling my heart jump from his tone.

Oh no. He sounds furious. Seething.

At least he's still here.

Just from his voice alone, I knew he must have heard Midas' speech. He's probably infuriated. Sad. Conflicted.

Time to brave the storm.

With a heavy sigh, I walked towards my bedroom, feeling the stresses piling up in my head along the way.

Trying to comfort him and the Todorokis....is a really weird thing.

"I...I know that couldn't have been easy for you to hear." I called out, hearing his scoff from behind the walls of the room.

"Yeah, you can fucking say that again."

Oof.

"Are you okay...." I trailed off, walking into the bedroom to see him.

The sight shocked me.

There was Touya, sitting at my work desk-in nothing but his underwear. He had a pair of bulky headphones on and a gaming computer smushed in front of his face, giving it his full attention.

His back was turned to me as he aggressively typed on the computer, swearing and jolting every few seconds from the actions of the video game.

"Press control F." He ordered out loud, sounding like he was talking to someone. "I said control F-are you a fucking idiot?"
