Violet POV:

"You know, I'm surprised you even own something like that in your clownish wardrobe. Isn't it, like, illegal?" Dabi questioned condescendingly as we walked out of Kurogiri's portal, entering the empty street that was only a few minutes away from Midas' mansion.

It would have been awkward to be teleported right up to the front door, after all. Don't want any more lookers than we'll already have, no doubt.

I turned my eyes up at Dabi's sarcasm, smoothing out the black leather jacket that he was referring to, before starting to walk.

"Oh? And since when was looking good a crime?" I retorted involuntarily, letting my jaw drop in pride at such a smooth comeback from myself.

Dabi looked at me boredly as he saw my face light up for validation, giving his head a small shake as he trailed my walking pace.

"Wow. Proud of yourself for that one, aren't you?" He asked rhetorically, watching me do a little happy dance in the middle of the abandoned street for my cool line.

I turned back to him with a deadpan glare, turning my brows up in a small pout as I strutted back over to him.

"Oh, come onnn. That was a good one, Dabi. Just say it was a good one!" I fake whined, involuntarily grabbing onto his arm as he finally met my distance.

Dabi's face softened a bit at my plea, letting out a small sigh of defeat as he had a moment of weakness.

".....it wasn't bad." He started off with a mumble, before seeing my face light up too brightly at his admittance. "But, it also wasn't good. There. You happy now?"

Knowing that bland comment still counted as a compliment, coming from him, the beaming grin remained plastered on my face as we walked, linked arm in arm.

"Sure am," I started off triumphantly, before catching a glimpse of my appearance in one of the street puddles ahead.

Black jeans and a leather jacket to match-also to hide the tight crop top I was wearing underneath, cause phewww , one too many pancakes this morning! Some stiletto, strappy heels, along with rings and giant hoops that practically weighed down my fingers and earlobes.

Perfect! Once again, not stuff I previously owned before starting this mission with Dabi. But, I'm starting to enjoy this cool style, and...

"Besides, I wasn't about to let our mall trip last week go to waste. I can't wear that hoochie dress everywhere-especially, not after you ruined it with your stomach blood." I followed up casually, reveling in the beautiful sunny day as I walked.

Dabi turned to me with a tired glare upon hearing my happy blame, giving my shoulder a small nudge with his own that caused me to stumble on my heels and grip onto him tighter.

"Well, excuse me for bleeding out." He nagged softly, keeping his distracted gaze on my dolled up face as he spoke.

I turned to him with an innocent smile, ignoring the flip of my stomach when I met his wandering gaze.

"Ah, you're excused! But, only because you didn't ruin those cute boots, too." I teased, giggling softly as Dabi's grin turned feral.

"Dark humor, little sapphire? Who the fuck are you, right now?" He murmured in low amusement, catching the way the soft, afternoon breeze barely blew back my sleek, straightened hair.

"Well, for the next two days-the girl of your dreams, apparently." I followed up a little too confidently, admittedly feeling pretty powerful in this outfit....
