Violet POV:

The sun had set long ago. The moon was at its peak. Touya and I had been running for ages.

I followed him through all the dark alleyways in the city he knew very well, feeling like a couple of criminals at the way we hid every time a police siren whizzed by.

He was much more seasoned at this than I was, balancing out my continuous panic attacks nicely with his calm and focused demeanor.

If it had just been me, I would have been caught by now, starting to walk out of the shadows way too early before Touya quickly pulled me back and covered my mouth.

"Not yet..." He'd mutter, keeping his piercing, intense gaze on the next police car that raced by.

In the darkest and dirtiest part of the city, he led us down a very specific alley, through a sewer drain, and back up the countless abandoned buildings that looked like they'd fall apart any second.

Reaching what looked to be the end of the alley, he glanced over our shoulders one more time to be cautious before pulling a heavy piece of splintered, nail-ridden wood off the wall.

It revealed a hole in the old cement wall that led to a secret hiding place. Touya climbed through first, taking a minute to check it for dangers before gesturing to me with his hand to crawl through.

Through the slime and mucky interior of the wall hole, I grimaced and stumbled into the new space, rising to my feet and taking a look as Touya put the wooden door back in place.

I was surprised at how comforting the space actually looked.

It was the equivalent to a little house-four walls and a ceiling-rather, a ratty tarp overhead that gave quite a bit of privacy, safety, and a sliver of moonlight thanks to some holes.

To top it all off, it looked like someone used to live here. There was a set of plates and cups atop an old wooden box, and the block of cement built into the wall had a dusty blanket draped atop it.

There were even a pair of two dried flowers sitting atop a book in the corner. Actually, they were my favorite flowers. Blue and purple lilies.

"Wow..." I uttered out in awe, feeling Touya's shoulder brush up next to mine.

"This is where I hid for years before the league of morons caught my interest." He explained, taking in the sight of his old 'home.' "I lived here when I first became...you know."

Dabi.

"Really? It's nice." I said softly.

A small snort of amusement slipped from his nose before he walked past me, kicking an old cup out of his path as he went.

"Dummy. You're not supposed to be impressed by this." He said, gesturing to the dust and filth.

But, that's the thing. I was genuinely impressed by this. Sure, it's clearly been a few years since anyone actually lived here, judging from the dust, but this is nicer than I was expecting from Touya during this time in his life.
