Violet POV:
"What in the world are you staring at?" I asked Dabi for a second time, furrowing my brows in confusion at the way his eyes had pretty much glazed over with his mouth slightly ajar at the sight of me.
The slight snapping of my fingers finally seemed the thing to bring him out of his unreadable thoughts as he quickly closed his mouth and looked at me blankly.
"Huh?" He uttered dazedly, running a hand through his hair as he tried to come back to reality.
"I asked what you're staring at. You're looking at me like I got something on my face." I pointed out, suddenly becoming a bit self conscious as I began rubbing the sides of my cheeks a bit in case I had something there.
Dabi adjusted in his seat slightly at my words, clearing his throat subtly before he gained back his usual smugness.
"Well, you do have something on your face, sunshine. It's called stupid, and it's all over you." He countered with a smirk, causing me to roll my eyes in an annoyance that made his smirk grow.
Seriously, it's as if he enjoys seeing me irritated. How irritating.
"Ha, Ha. Wow, that was so funny. You know, if it were any funnier, I think I'd just keel over and drop dead right now." I sneered sarcastically, tightening up the stack of papers in my hand as I prepared to leave for our meeting with The Boss.
Dabi lethargically rose to his feet upon seeing my actions, giving his arms a lazy stretch over his head as he spoke.
"Mm, promise?" He drawled out through his stretch, chuckling softly as he watched my face, waiting for me to get mad.
My lips scrunched up at his antics, yet I fought my urge to retort with a swear word when my phone 'dinged' in the pocket of my hero suit, signaling that I had a message.
"Well. Ignoring that completely unnecessary and totally tasteless comment-" I grumbled as I yanked my phone out of my pocket, watching Dabi cross his arms in amusement.
"It was actually very necessary-" He started up again, before my eyes caught sight of The Boss' message on my phone...
...and the time.
"Ah!!! Oh my gosh-what?! We're already thirty minutes late to the meeting and we haven't even left yet?!" I squeaked out in a panic, quickly putting the report folder underneath my arm as I typed back to The Boss' all caps message.
Curse my creative mind for trying to color code everything-
"I know." Dabi replied casually, watching me freak out boredly.
I looked up at him immediately upon hearing his words, narrowing my eyes in irritation as I spoke through grit teeth.
"You knew we were late this whole time and didn't think to say anything? Why? Huh?! You always wanna say something! You always have something to say, and now's the time you decide to stay quiet?!" I bit back less than intimidating, watching Dabi press his rough lips together to fight the amusement that wanted to show on his face.
"Well, you were so hard at work, color coding all of your notes. How rude it would have been to interrupt that." He mocked out tauntingly, letting a white toothed grin of victory flash across his face when I lightly knocked his shoulder with my own on my way to the door.
"You are just something else." I sighed defeatedly, as I heard Dabi's footsteps trail behind me to follow.
"Yeah, back at you, little sapphire."
