A warning this chapter for Bully Touya. Unfortunately, it is necessary for the plot of the book :(
Touya POV:
"Touya!" My sorry excuse of a sister yelled out once more from the other side of the door, making my teeth grit as I glared wildly at the wall. "How many times do I have to tell you to let the photographer inside!?"
I let out a small growl as I did the last button of my dress shirt aggressively, stomping over to the door before throwing it open.
"How many times do I have to tell you I'm getting it!?" I bit back, glaring at my two idiot siblings in the hallway before storming past them.
Without so much as a glance, I brushed by Fuyumi and a protesting Natsuo, seeing they didn't even notice me as she was still trying to fix his dumb hair.
Whatever. Not like they notice me anyways.
It's funny. How crowded and noisy this damn house is all the time. Always filled with someone's complaining-usually, mine. Or someone's yelling-also usually mine, or dad's. Or some failed experiment of a kid running around here with their own problems.
It never stops. It couldn't be more packed. And, yet here at home...is where I always feel the most empty.
That's what happens when you live in a toxic household. There's no escape.
I rolled my eyes at the loud bickering of my siblings clearly heard all the way into the kitchen, watching the maids swiftly trying to get out of my path as they saw me storming towards the entrance of the house.
Letting out a small sigh of deflation, I mentally prepared myself for the asshole I'd see when I opened the front door, grabbing the knob of it and throwing it open way harsher than necessary.
The Roach in question instantly jumped at the aggressive way the door flew open, instinctively letting out a smile of greeting until his eyes processed who he'd actually have to speak to.
The smile instantly fell from his face once he got a look at me, his shoulders slumping and shrinking in realization.
"Oh. Great. I was hoping it would be you who answered the door." Akio Matsubara grumbled with slight sarcasm, averting his eyes from me with a groaning sigh.
Finally, a reaction from someone. I can always count on him to give me one. I don't give a damn if it's negative.
A slight smirk began making its way onto my face at his obvious discomfort. My mouth opened to torment him, yet whatever comment I'd come up with in my mind was quick to fizzle away when I caught sight of what he was wearing.
A school uniform, but not just any school uniform. No. It was the prestigious Shiketsu High School uniform.
Shiketsu Hero High School.
It's not the first time I've heard about Roach's mediocre 'accomplishment' about getting into such a mediocre school.
I put 'accomplishment' in quotes-mental quotes, because anyone can get into that shit show of a school. I'm fully convinced he probably cheated during the entrance exam just like he does everything else in his life. He's not really good enough to get in there-or anywhere.
...and, yeah, I also applied to Shiketsu-but, I don't care! Like I said, the whole thing's rigged, anyways. If they take Roach, then clearly their standards are shit!!
But, regardless, even if I'd overheard Grape mention the news of his acceptance a few months ago, there wasn't anything to give my brain that physical proof that it truly happened. It was still just talk.
