Violet POV:
It wasn't long before the sun had slowly started to set beyond the ocean horizons, leaving nothing but streaks of fading pink and orange across the sky as night slowly began to settle in.
But, even if the day was starting to come to a close, I was anything but tired.
Quite the opposite actually-I haven't felt this good in literal years. This free. This happy. It feels like my endorphins had leveled up five times, just from this day alone!
And as much as I feel uncomfortable depending on someone else for my new bout of happiness, I can't deny knowing that Dabi's presence today had a lot to do with my good mood.
Heh. Even if he did just finish hurling in the trash can for the third time today.
"God, that was just amazing, wasn't it??" I laughed heartily as we finally exited the entrance to the rollercoaster, throwing my hands out from my sides as I bounced along the sunset fairgrounds.
The darkening changes to the sky caused the atmosphere of the fair to change, too. Some of the booths began to close for the night, with families bidding their friends goodbye as they took their children home for bed. The music became a little louder as the hanging lights of the bar tent shone bright now, with more young couples and college kids veering towards it, ready to drink the night away.
Guess that will be us soon, too!
"I second that!" Akio chimed in brightly, letting a soft glow illuminate from his body as he felt elated with good vibes. "My favorite part was when Dabi passed out."
I chuckled softly as I looked back to the broody man, seeing him scoff in lazy annoyance to the giddiness going around the premise.
"Yeah, well I'm glad I fucking did-it put me outta my misery for five minutes. I don't know how you idiots find that fun." He drawled out dryly, easily allowing me to loop my arm through his and lug his slow moving body forward.
"Ohhh, come on now." I sang softly, turning towards Dabi with a beaming smile. "I could say the same thing about you and arson, you know."
The broody man shrugged lightly to my comment, looking around with disdain at the pretty lights and lanterns that decorated the fairgrounds.
"Nah. That's different." He said dismissively, causing me to roll my eyes.
"How so?"
"Cause arson is fun," he smirked, looking at the back of Akio's head like a target. "Especially when you use it to rip fuckers like that a new asshole."
I let out a small chuckle and shook my head, hearing Akio whistle mockingly a few feet ahead of us.
"Careful, Dabi. I don't think you're big enough down there to even come close to that." Akio snickered softly, not even bothering to turn around as we nonchalantly made our way through the lightening crowds.
And maybe it was the atmosphere. Or maybe it was the high adrenaline of the rollercoaster that caused this strange giddiness to linger. But, whatever it was, I couldn't help but blurt out something a little....mmm....risqué for my taste.
"I beg to differ." I said confidently, taking my lip between my teeth with mischief as I spoke about Dabi's...you know what!
And that was the statement that apparently caused both of my stubborn friends to perk up with interest, as Dabi dragged us to a full halt while Akio abruptly turned around to face us.
