For the rest of the weekend, Mix kept to himself in the dorm. Specifically staying in his new room most of the time. It had taken him all week, but over the weekend it had finally started to look like his previous room.
To be more specific, he had finally finished putting all his art back up on the walls.
Mix's favorite pastime, was art. Something he was incredibly good at, unlike fighting. Part of it he had to give credit to his imagination though. He always managed to think of something incredibly interesting and detailed to work on, one after the other. They all seemed kinda random to him, to be honest. So he always wondered where his ideas came from.
A few examples of his recent works were a boy in a green and black kimono, wielding an electrified katana. A girl, soaring through the sky with the wings of a dragon. A boy, who kinda looked like Tyler, wielding black flames. And a girl, inside of and controlling a giant made of water.
As Mix was working on his newest piece, he heard a knock at his door. A sound he hadn't heard more than once or twice since moving here. It caught him off guard a bit.
Mix: Hm? Come in.
The door opened, and not too surprisingly, Morgan entered.
Morgan: Hey. It's just me.
All weekend, Morgan kept starting conversations with him, for some reason. He guessed she was just trying to be friendly, but he wasn't great at the whole "making friends" thing, so he guessed it probably wasn't very easy for her.
Mix: Oh. Hey, Morgan. Whatcha need?
Morgan: Nothing. Just kinda bored, so I thought I'd come say hi.
She came in and walked over to his desk, where he was currently sitting and had been working.
Morgan: Whatcha up to?
Mix: Just drawing.
Morgan: Oh. May I see?
Mix: Sure.
Mix held up a piece of paper to show his current work.
It was a girl, drawing back a bow and arrow. Her whole body coated in flames. Morgan looked impressed, and maybe a little surprised.
Morgan: Woah. That's.. really good.
Mix: Thanks. This is.. kinda the only thing I'm good at, so I do it a lot.
He motioned around the room, referring to the walls covered in his art. Morgan looked around, and her eyes went wide. Apparently she hadn't really noticed it when she came in.
Morgan: W-Woah...
She walked up to one of the walls and looked at the art, seemingly in shock and awe. Mix wasn't really sure what to say about it.
Morgan: Where did you.. get the ideas for all of these..?
Mix: Not sure. They kinda just come to me, one after another.
Morgan: Really..? How.. interesting.
She kept examining them all, and eventually seemed to focus in on one of them. A drawing of a shadowy hooded figure, wielding a scythe and having tentacles all around them.
Morgan: They just.. come to you?
Mix: Mhmm.
Morgan: Alright.. well, they're amazing, no matter what the inspiration is. If joining Judgement doesn't work out for you, you've got an unstarted art career right here to fall back on.
That comment shot Mix a little.
Mix: Yeah.. If I fail this too, maybe I'll try that next.
Morgan: Oh... sorry...
Mix: It's alright.. You didn't mean anything mean. Oh hey, tomorrow's Monday, right?
Morgan: Yep.
Mix: That means we're both getting assigned Judgement branches to work at, right? As trainees or something? Like everyone else does after school.
Morgan: Yep. Which branch did they put you into?
Mix: 177th. You?
Morgan: 178th. Dang it.
Mix: Yeah, damn. Oh well. Good luck out there tomorrow.
Morgan: Thanks. You too, Mix.
Morgan smiled, then waved goodbye and took her leave to go back to her room. Leaving Mix to return to his art.
Morgan thinking: He can draw all those people without ever having seen them... how? Is it just because he's connected to him, or is it something more than that..?
Morgan was deep in thought as she returned to her very undecorated room, and Mix kept working on his flaming archer. He was thinking about naming this one "Phoenix".
