Everyone had had a bad feeling about it ever since the morning. "It" being Mix not being seen.
Ty had gone to his room in the morning to check on him, but he wasn't there. Everyone thought maybe he'd just gotten up earlier than normal, but deep down they had their suspicions.
After that, he didn't show up to first period. Or any other period, for that matter. Shirai and Morgan didn't see him a single time, and that only put their worries into reality about where Mix was.
Around noon, it was lunch for all the classes. As Morgan and Shirai sat at a table, Ty and Misaka soon joined them.
Ty: Was Mix at class?
Shirai: Nope. You see any sign of him?
Ty: He hasn't texted me or anything yet, so no.
Misaka: Do you think he really went off on his own?
Morgan: I'd like to think he's smarter than that, but it's the only logical explanation..
Shirai: That being that Kagetane has him now, right?
Morgan: Yeah..
Ty: We've gotta go find him then!
Misaka: Agreed, but no one else saw the address Kagetane had him come too, right?
Morgan: Exactly. We have no idea where he would've been going.
Shirai: Think Tina could find him?
Morgan: It's possible, but even the shenfield has its limits.
Ty: Great.. So what are we supposed to do then? Just sit around and wait for something to happen?
Misaka: It's not like we have a choice. The city's a big place. We won't find him by just going out and searching.
Shirai: Maybe we could try-
Morgan: Um, guys..
Morgan cut Shirai off as she checks her phone, and sees a new message appear.
Morgan: I just got a message. It's from Mix.
Ty: That's great! Read it!
Morgan nods, and starts to read the message out loud.
Morgan: Hello, miss Morgan. I'm sure by now you've realized this worlds version of m'boy is nowhere to be seen. Luckily for you, he's not gone missing. I know exactly where he is! Right here with me..
Morgan trails off for a moment as she processes that this is Kagetane's message, not Mix's.
Ty: So Kagetane's got him..
Shirai: And Saten too..
Misaka: Is there more?
Morgan nods before continuing.
Morgan: If you'd like to take him back, I'd suggest you and your friends hurry. You're not the only ones I've invited to this little party, after all... Then there's an address.
Shirai: Not the only ones?
Misaka: Who else would he have told..?
Morgan: Knowing Kagetane, he means EM. There's no one else he could mean really.
Ty: He's insane! What's the point of telling both us and EM?
Morgan: To make us fight over him, most likely. He does love a good show after all.
Shirai: If he wants a show then we'll give him one!
Ty: Think we need a plan, Morgan?
Morgan shakes her head no, surprisingly.
Morgan: If EM knows where Mix is, he's already gonna be on the way there. We don't have time for a plan.
She stands up from the table and starts dialing Tina.
Morgan: All of you go gear up! If Mix gets to skip school, I say we do too.
Everyone grins as they get up too and immediately run off to get anything they're gonna need for the fight ahead. Meanwhile, Tina picks up her phone.
Morgan: Can you and Uncle be ready to move in ten minutes?
Tina: Of course we can. What's happening?
Morgan: We're officially in a race against EM to rescue Mix. We've gotta move ASAP.
Tina: Understood.
Once they both hand up, Tina turns to Morgan's uncle. They were both currently hanging out in Morgan's dorm room. Tina had the phone on speaker, so he already knew they needed to get ready.
Uncle: So he went and got himself caught.. That's just great.
Tina: He did it for the right reason. He wanted to save Saten.
Uncle: Yeah but it could've been done without falling into an obvious trap.
Tina: Maybe, but he is just a beginner after all. He doesn't have our level of experience. With dangers this large or Kagetane.
Uncle: True, I guess.
He stands and picks up his katana, which was resting against the wall.
Uncle: We'll be up against all of them at once.
Tina picks up her massive sniper rifle as she nods to agree.
Tina: It won't be a problem. We can handle them.
Uncle: Heh. Wonder if EM's group feels the same.
Within the next few minutes, everyone was ready to go rescue Mix. So without hesitation, they all left UA and started making their way through the city as fast as they can.
They had to get to Mix before EM did.
