The next morning was the beginning of Monday, which meant school unfortunately. After Saten decided to use Mix as her personal "Telporting Taxi" as she called it, he rushed all the way back to UA for his own classes.
Mix thinking: She seriously was almost late for class because she wanted me to take her there? I.. can't tell if that was just a bad idea or.. no, it was probably just that.
Shaking his head and deciding to be dense, Mix made his way to class. He made it with a few minutes to spare, sitting at his desk and sighing.
Mix: That was a whole lotta teleporting for so early in the morning. On a Monday too, of all days.
Shirai: Well someone sure looks exhausted.
Morgan: Class hasn't even started, Mix. You can't be bored already.
Shirai and Morgan had made it to class. Morgan taking her seat next to Mix, and Shirai doing the same on his other side.
Mix: Heh, it's not that. I had to help Saten get to school.
Shirai: Oh? How so?
Shirai seemed curious about this. Be it for gossip purposes or protectiveness, Mix was sure it was at least because it involved Saten.
Mix: Same way I've moved around with her before. Picked her up and teleported through the sky.
Shirai smirked.
Mix: What?
Shirai: Oh, nothing.
Morgan giggles as Mix just seems confused.
Mix: What is it? Tell me!
Morgan: You're pretty dense for this kinda thing, huh?
Mix: What kinda thing?!
Shirai and Morgan clearly had no intention of explaining anything to him, but they wouldn't be able to even if they wanted, as the bell then rang, signaling the start of class. The teacher walked in, and everyone started paying attention. Well, to some extent. Mix wasn't exactly good at the whole "listening in class" thing. Not really wanting to listen, he pulled out a piece of paper and started to draw.
During some of his free time in his dorm, he'd been working on a new set of drawings for his wall. These ones were all the different combinations of the mechs he'd seen. Since they used Blazing Formation for the first time yesterday, he decided to start on it now.
This would backfire against him pretty fast, unfortunately.
Because he wasn't listening, he of course was complete unaware of what the teacher was talking about. She was explaining to the class about a sound weapon that existed among criminals and villains. It typically got spread around via the black market. This sound weapon, was an audio file. To be more precise, it was a low ringing sound. Besides ringing noises being quite annoying, this specific sound had another effect besides annoying people.
It completely incapacitated people who had abilities, and stopped them from using said abilities.
Because quirks are all different from one another, this sound couldn't effect quirk users. However, abilities are all quite similar, both between users, and how they were built into peoples brains. Because of this, the specific frequency of the audio file effected all ability users.
Since the teacher could obviously tell Mix wasn't paying attention, she got an idea. Against the entire classes many quick objections, she played a copy of it she had on her phone. (She had this for teaching purposes, obviously)
The second it started, every student in the room basically collapsed to the ground, including Mix. This involved lots of yelling. In Mix's case it was surprised panic.
Mix: AHH!! WH-WHAT THE HELL?!
Shirai: YOU.. IDIOT..!!
Which Shirai tried to slap Mix in her very disabilitated state, Morgan was on the ground next to them. Not because the sound effected her, but because she needed to keep up the act of having an ability.
After about a minute of very painful listening, the teacher turned the sound off. Seemed she had earplugs in her pocket in preparation for this moment..
Slowly but surely, all the students made their way back up into their seats. She'd gotten the whole class with it since all of them had abilities. Well, ignoring Morgan of course.
Mix: Ow... My head...
Shirai: That was your fault, by the way..
They were both getting seated again, looking like they'd just gotten over a horrible headache.
Morgan: I'm guessing she was gonna do it anyway, but yeah. It was definitely to get Mix. Hehehe
Mix: D-Damn it..
After the teacher was sure she now had everyone's attention, class continued. For fear of being incapacitated again, Mix paid very close attention.
Mix, thinking: If this is teaching me anything, it's that I never wanna hear that noise again.
With luck, he wouldn't.
However luck was about to be far, far away from his side.
