Mix wouldn't wake up until much later that day. He found himself laying in bed in his room. Not that he had any idea how he got there, though.
Mix thinking: What happened..? I remember.. Saten.. and Kagetane... but everything after that is a blur...
He sat up slowly and looked out the window. It was dark, so apparently night now.
Mix: So it's been hours..
To Mix, that only meant that Saten had been in Kagetane's hands that long. He needed to get her back.
Mix: Time to go then, I guess.
He moved to the side of the bed and went to stand, only to be met with a shooting pain near his stomach.
Mix: AHH!!
He immediately fell back down into the bed, not expecting such a strong pain.
Mix: I guess.. whatever Frozen Soldier did didn't completely fix it.. Or maybe.. something else?
It was possible this strange pain sharing thing he had going on with Frozen Soldier couldn't process that much damage, so it sent it back to him. Mix didn't really know how it worked of course, so this was just a guess.
Mix: So the damage itself is gone, but the pain isn't.. just great...
As he was about to try standing again, the door opened as Morgan and Ty came in.
Morgan: You're awake!
Ty: You okay man?
Mix: Yeah.. I'm fine.
Morgan: We only came in because we heard the scream, Mix. How are you. Really?
Mix: I feel like I was shot in the stomach. Which I was, but soldier had healed it. Still hurts like hell though..
Ty: Tina said something about Kagetane being near you. Was it him?
Mix nods, then a frustrated look covers his face.
Mix: Yeah, it was him. He.. he took Saten.
Morgan: Seriously?!
Of all the things that masked madman could do, take Saten? Why?! His choices never ceased to frustrate her nowadays.
Ty: I'm guessing he still has her?
Mix: Yeah.. So I've gotta go.
Grunting in pain loudly, Mix forced himself to his feet as both Morgan and Ty moved to stop him.
Morgan: No way! Mix, you can barely stand!
Ty: Don't do something stupid. Do you even know where they are?
Mix: No, I don't. But I have to look! I can't just lay here and do nothing!
Morgan: We understand, but you can't just go out looking blindly when they could be anywhere. You won't find them if they don't want to be found.
Ty nods, agreeing with Morgan. Despite Mix not wanting to admit it, they had a point. They could be anywhere in the city by now. Or maybe even farther..
That's when Mix's phone rang over on his desk. Looking over at Ty, he had his kitsune friend grab the phone and toss it over to him. Mix's eyes widened as he read who was calling.
"Saten Ruiko"
Mix: Well then.. I guess he wants to be found.
