It was 9:30. My parents just went to bed. I grabbed the big duffle bag from the floor of my closet. I grabbed all the clothes I could find and put them in first. I didn't really own much that was special. I grabbed the one blanket that had always brought be so much comfort. It was green and knitted. It was the softest thing I had ever felt in my life and I cuddled with it whenever I was sad or upset. That was about it. I didn't really have many friends so I didn't have any special pictures or anything. I threw in my hairbrush and toothbrush, and the other toiletries. And I was packed. It was about 10:00 now. I just had to write the note.
'I'm sorry. I just have to go. Don't worry about me. I'm safe. - love, Alex'
I hear a car stop in front of the house. I look out my window and it's them. Dean is waiting below my window to catch my bag. He catches it with ease seeing as how it's very light. I climbed down and was greeted by Sam. "Is that everything?"
"Yep. I don't have much."
"Ok. Let's head back to the hotel then." They threw my bag in the trunk and we drove off. We got to a cheap little hotel on the edge of town.
"I know it's not much, but it's enough. We're never anywhere long enough to care." Dean said.
"Here, you can stay in this one, and I'll take the floor." Sam said, gesturing toward the bed.
"No way. I'm taking the floor. You take the bed."
"You're new to all of this. You should get the bed. I want you to be comfortable."
"I'll be uncomfortable knowing that you're uncomfortable on the floor. Seriously, I insist." You give him your puppy dog eyes, and he gives in.
"You definitely get those puppy dog eyes from Sam, Alex." Dean says. I chuckled a little.
Sam and Dean sat in the edge of their beds. "So, is there anything you want to know about us?"
"Yeah, a couple things. First, will you tell me about my mom? If not, I totally get it. I don't want to bring back too many emotions you don't want to deal with right now."
"Of course I'll tell you." Sam started "She looked so much like you. You two are practically spitting images. She had the same laugh as you, and she was so kind-hearted just like you. She and I had our moments. We fought but we always made it through it. She was a hunter like us. We actually saved her from a demon, and that's how she and I met. She loved me and Dean but eventually decided to marry me. She saved our butts so many times that I lost count. She didn't care if she got hurt, all she cared about was keeping us safe. She was an incredible woman, and despite our many fights, I miss her every single day." Sam says as he starts to cry a little from remembering the day she died.
"I'm sorry." I said as I hugged him.
"What's your other question?" Dean asked
"Um, I'm not trying to be rude, but are you ok? Is something wrong?"
"I'm fine, why?" Dean asks, taken aback by my question.
"I'm extremely perceptible to people's emotions, and I have this weird feeling that you're not ok. Sorry for asking."
"It's ok. Just put it this way. I've been through a lot, and I don't want to talk about it. I hardly bring it up with Sam."
"That's fine. I'm just asking."
"Ok, lets get to sleep. I don't know about you, but I'm really tired." Sam said
" Me too. Warning, I'm a pretty heavy sleeper, so I might be really hard to get up in the morning." They both chuckle at this. I put my pajamas on in the bathroom, and came out. I fell asleep fast and was in a deep sleep. While I was sleeping, Sam picked me up, and put me on the bed. He tucked me in and gave me a fatherly kiss on the forehead. He whispered in my ear "I love you." I woke up a little. Just enough to realize what was going on, and see him lay down on the floor next to the bed. He was so sweet.
"I love you too dad." I whispered back before succumbing to sleep once again.
