~Dean's POV~

I walked back to Alex's hospital room to tell her that her dad was ok. I opened the door to her room and she was lying there in her bed with tears flowing down her face. Her face was puffy and clearly, she had been crying for a while.

"Alex, why are you so upset?"

"You don't know if my dad will wake up. I don't want to lose him."

"Alex, I just went to check on him. He woke up. They give him a 99% chance of being totally fine. If all goes well, we can take him home tonight or tomorrow. You said it yourself. He's strong."

"I know I said that. I just got really worried. I don't want to lose anyone else."

"I know kiddo. It'll be ok. He'll be fine and we can take him home. Probably tomorrow morning so he has time to rest. Once you are feeling ok and your dad wakes up, I'll see if they'll let me take you to go see him."

"Ok." She said

I sat in a chair in the room and waited with Alex.

"What's wrong Dean?"

"Nothing. I'm fine."

"No you're not. Talk to me." She stated gently

"I was just so worried about you both. I can't stop thinking about what happened and everything. I almost lost you both. And I don't know what I would do if I did. I've lost everyone I've ever loved. I lost your mom, my mom, and every girlfriend I ever had. I lost Sammy a few times and I don't want to lose him again and I don't want to lose you too."

"You're not gonna lose me Dean. I'm right here and I'm not going anywhere." I was going to respond, but the nurse came in and told us Sam was ready to see us. I helped Alex out of bed and walked with her over to Sam's room.

"Just keep in mind he's really weak, and when I was in there, he couldn't speak above a whisper due to his lack of strength."

"Ok." She said with some fear in her voice.
I grabbed her shoulder and stopped her. "I promise you, it's ok." She nodded. We entered Sammy's room.

"Hey guys." He whispered.

"Dad!" Alex exclaimed happily. She ran over and gave him a gentle hug.

~Sam's POV~

Oh, how I needed that hug. I thought I was gonna lose her right before I passed out.

"Hey kiddo." I said with a smile.

"Are you ok?"

"I'm fine. I'm really weak, but ok."

"I thought we had lost you, dad." She replied with a hint of tears in her eyes.

"You're not gonna lose me." She nodded.

"So, do you want to head out tonight or do you wanna wait until morning? You pretty much just needed a lot of stitches and some minor surgery, but you are still really weak from everything." Dean asked

"We can go tonight. I could use some sleep in a good bed."

"Ok. We'll let you rest dad." Alex said. I asked Alex to give Dean and me a minute and he seemed to have no idea what I wanted. He sat down in a chair next to the bed so we could talk.

"What's up Sammy?"

"I wanted to talk about what you said to me while I was out."

"Oh." He said, not sure what I meant.

"I just wanted you to know that I heard everything. Every single word. I know how much you hate emotions and talking about them, but thank you. I can't believe how much you have put up with with me, and the fact that you think I'm strong means a lot. I am never going to leave you or Alex. You guys mean the world to me. About you needing me and not being able to live without me... I know how much you've been through with me. I've died so many times and you had to carry on without me. You've experienced so many hard times and so much death. It takes a lot for someone to be able to admit they need someone, Dean. I know we have our fights and we have our screaming matches, but you have been the best brother. I never thanked you for all that you have done for me Dean." I paused "sorry for getting all sappy on you." Dean had a slight tear forming in his eye.

"You're right. I don't like getting emotional, but I was serious about everything I said. I can't live without you. You are all that I have and have ever had. Anyone else I have ever loved or wanted to love is dead. I can't lose you Sammy. Not again, and you don't have to thank me for anything I did when you were younger."

"Yes I do, Dean. You gave up your entire childhood to make sure I had one. You never had to do that." I weakly said. "And you have Alex too now. You and I are not alone."

"I did what needed to be done. You deserved to have a great childhood." He said awkwardly then paused. "Whenever you're ready, we can go home."

"Ok. Just give me a chance to change and check out, and we can go."

"Ok." He said before walking out

~Dean's POV~

I saw Alex still standing in the hallway once I left Sammy's room.

"He's changing and will check out and we can go. By the way, based on how Sammy and I's conversation went, he might bring up my jealousy to you." I started

"Don't worry, I won't bring it up or discuss it with him. I promised you."

"I was going to say, if he brings it up, I give you permission to talk about it. You're right. I think he knows already so I don't care if you discuss it."

"Oh. Ok." She said, not sure what else to say. "Oh, before we get in the car, can I actually get my iPod from the trunk?"

"Of course kiddo." I said, chuckling a tad at the fact that after all of this, she never got to use her iPod.
