The next day we continued my training. We practiced every day for the next week. Fighting Dean was the main focus. I got hit a few times at first, but after a while, it started going well. I was dodging Dean's punches and he was getting hit by most of my attacks. We stopped for a break since we were both out of breath.

"Great job Alex! You've really improved a lot. Won't be very long until you can start hunting with us." Dean said.

"Thanks. It feels weird, but I'm happy I'm doing well. I can't wait to finally hunt with you guys." We continued practicing for the next couple hours before heading inside for lunch. We ate some burgers from the diner again. It was a recurring food item, but at least they were good. Dean and my dad at some point went off to talk without me noticing since I was watching tv. My dad came over to me and said "special day tomorrow."

"Why?" I asked, not getting his hint "is it yours or Dean's birthday?"

"No." He chuckled "you're gonna hunt with us."

"Seriously? Are you sure? Cause I don't know that I'm ready yet."

"Yeah. You've done really well, and I think it's time." I got up and gave him a big hug.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you." I said. He ruffled my hair. I was so happy. The day couldn't end sooner, and sleep just couldn't take me. I was thinking too many things at once. Eventually, sleep conquered, and I slept for a couple hours before my dad came in and woke me up.
