"Alex." I heard my dad say. I told him he could wake me up if he needed to, but I was still tired.
"Huh?" I asked groggily as I got up.
"Can you help me up?"
"Yeah. What do you need?"
"To pee." He responded with a slight chuckle at the fact I didn't figure that out. I chuckled back. I stood next to the bed, and he put his arm around my shoulder and I started helping him off the bed. His leg was really painful. Since it wasn't broken or sprained and only sore, the stupid doctor didn't give him crutches, so he needed help to do anything. On the count of 3, he moved his weight off of the bed. I helped my dad limp to the bathroom where he had a counter and towel rack to help him walk. I stood outside the door so I could help him back into bed. I hadn't noticed, but as I stood there, I leaned up against the wall and started falling asleep again. My dad got himself to the door and saw that I was falling asleep. He woke me up gently.
"Alex." Was all he had to say for me to get up again. I walked with him back into bed. I helped him back up into bed, and I climbed back into mine. "Sorry for waking you up Alex. Goodnight... Again"
"Don't apologize dad. I told you to wake me up if you needed anything. Goodnight again." I fell asleep and was not woken up again. I woke up at about 4:00 pm. Considering we didn't get to the bunker until 4:00 am and I was woken up, that was pretty reasonable. As I woke up, I sat up. I rubbed the crusty drool off my face and rubbed my eyes. My dad was already up in bed.
"You're up already?" I asked"Yeah. I haven't been up real long."
"Have you been waiting for me to get up so you can get up?"
"Yeah. I didn't want to wake you again. Don't worry about it." He said. I got up and helped him out of bed and we headed out the door to the kitchen. It seemed like my dad was having extra trouble moving his leg. It was worse than yesterday.
"How's your leg dad? It seems like it's worse than yesterday."
"It's just stiff from not moving it all day. I'm just sorry you're having to help me walk. I'm sure it's not easy to hold me up."
"It's fine dad. I'm happy to help you." He nodded. He sat in a chair at the table as Dean and I talked in the kitchen.
"Morning Dean." I said as I joined him in the kitchen.
"Evening Alex." He chuckled. "How are you, how is he?"
"I'm fine. He's ok. His leg is really stiff and still hurts, but he's ok. How are you?"
"Good. Glad you're both doing ok. I'm ok too."
"Good. Hey, I know you're probably still pissed, but can I borrow the car?"
"Why?" He asked skeptically.
"Because dad can't hardly walk on his own, and that stupid doctor didn't give him crutches. I wanted to run down to the drug store real quick and get him some."
"I can get them Alex."
"Please Dean?" He thought about it for a minute.
"Alright, but any sign of trouble, you call. Got it?" He asked sternly and almost angrily except he wasn't mad.
"Yes sir." I said.
"What's with the sir? You never say that."
"I don't know. You sound mad at me and scared so I felt like it was proper for me to say that."
