I got up in the morning and joined my dad and Dean. My dad had his laptop open and was doing more research.

"Morning guys."

"Hey, Alex."

"What are you researching? I thought you knew what case you had coming up."

"I thought we did, but it turns out there's more than one thing going on. It's not just the vamps. There's demons around too. It's just a lot to handle."

"Do you need my help?" I asked

"You said you wanted out and we are going to respect that. I have some hunter friends in that town. I'll get some of them to help."

"I told you I would help if you needed me to. I'll help you guys and you can still get your hunter friends to help."

"Ok. I just don't want to push you if you really want out."

"It's fine, dad."

"Well, I'll let you two go ask the hunters. After all the mark stuff, they don't particularly like me." Dean interjected

"Well they don't know me." I added

"They may not know you, Alex, but if you are helping then you need to meet them."

"Ok. I'll go with you." And with that, we headed out to the impala and drove to the town. We dropped Dean off at the hotel we would be staying at, then headed to meet the hunters. To say I was nervous would be an understatement.

"It'll be ok, Alex. I'm right here with you." I nodded. We arrived at an abandoned building towards the edge of town. Sam had given them a heads up, so we walked in.

"Hey, Sammy." They said before looking at me with death stares. They hated my guts and I wondered why. Suddenly, a man in his upper 20s shoved me into the wall and pushed a blade into my neck. He was tall, but not even close to my dad's height. He had short light brown hair, and was fairly well built. 'Heck of a way to meet a hunter.' I thought to myself. I was struggling to breathe.

"Stop it, Jack! She's my daughter."

"She's trying to take over hell."

"No she's not. Not anymore." My dad responded. "Let her go. I'll explain." Jack dropped me. I had a coughing fit due to lack of air. I stood back up and was restraining myself from lunging at him, which everyone saw.

"Explain, Sam."

"Ok. She had these powers that her great grandparents gave her. The people I was stupid enough to let adopt her, trained and raised her to take over hell with her powers. We talked to Cas and he helped us get all the powers out of her. She doesn't have them anymore and is just a hunter."

"I won't believe it until I know for sure." Then, he bent down and opened up a hatch to the main part of their bunker of sorts. This area must have been where they did their research and such. "Go." He commanded to me. I didn't move out of fear. Jack shoved me and I stumbled down the stairs into the lower area. I was so scared. Was Jack going to kill me? Surely, my dad wouldn't let me die. I thought. "Give me your hands." He said as he grabbed a rope from one of the other hunters. I didn't want to. I was petrified. I looked at my dad, fear written all over my face.

"Alex, just do what he says. He's not gonna kill you." I did as I was told. He tied the rope to one of my wrists and walked me over to the wall where there were some pipes. He shoved me to the ground and tied my hands together around a pipe. Basically, he handcuffed me. I was huddled on the ground. My dad said Jack wouldn't kill me, but the anger and hatred in his eyes showed otherwise. "Now, Alex, he's probably going to cut you so he can be sure you don't still have your powers. They know you used to be able to heal yourself. He's just checking." I nodded.

Jack took his blade and cut across my forearm. It hurt like hell. He wasn't gentle like my dad. I didn't heal myself and I was bleeding a lot due to the harsh nature of his cutting. My dad came running over with a rag and placed it on my arm. I could see in his eyes that he was becoming scared for me. "Can you let her go now, Jack?" He came over and cut the rope off my wrists.

"Sorry, Alex. We just needed to be sure." Jack apologized.

"I get it. You guys didn't know I was cured. I can't blame you for checking."

"Well, as you know, I'm Jack. That one over there is Christian." He said, gesturing at a heavier set man with short black hair. "That one is Harrison." He said pointing at a man in his mid 30s with shoulder length brown hair. It was longer than my dad's, and I thought my dad's was long. "And finally, that one is Kyle." He said gesturing at a guy in his early 20s. Kyle had a soft smile, and almost looked innocent which was comforting. I nodded and waved at each one.

"So, do you know about what's going on?" My dad asked Jack.

"Pretty much. What did you find?"

"Just that not only is this a vamps case, but a demon case too."

"Well, shoot." Jack replied. "So what's the plan?"

"Dean, Alex, and I were thinking about teaming up with you guys on this. It's too much for 2 people to handle."

"You mean 3?" Jack questioned.

"Yeah. Sorry. That's what I meant." My dad said. I knew exactly why he said 2. I didn't bring it up though. "So are you guys in?"

"Yeah. We'll help you out. Just keep Dean under control. You remember last time."

"What happened last time?" I asked

"The mark took control and Dean killed one of ours. I don't like to talk about it." Jack stated. I simply nodded. I understood how out of control Dean could get. My dad and I headed back to the hotel to get geared up and pick up Dean. The ride was silent until my dad spoke up.

"I know you want to ask something, so just go ahead." He said anticipating my question. I stayed quiet not sure if I wanted to bring it up.

"You want to know about Dean, don't you?" I looked at him astonished that he could pick up on that. "You're not the only one who can pick up on things."

"Yeah. I want to know."

"Ok. Well, we were on a hunt with them. Your typical demon case. It was a lot of demons so we teamed up with them. We finished the hunt, when it was just like the vamps one with me except no one could snap him out of it and he killed one of their guys. That's why Dean doesn't like working with them. They still hate him for it regardless of the fact they know it wasn't his fault. We usually do stuff ourselves now."

"Oh." I said as I thought about what Jack was doing with regards to my powers. "Do they hate me too?" I asked.

"No, honey. Why would you think that? They just wanted to make sure you weren't gonna try to kill them. I thought you said you understood why Jack was checking."

"I understood why he did it. I would have wanted to check too, but you should have seen his eyes, Dad. They didn't look like he was just checking. They were filled with anger and hatred. Jack hates me."

"Honey, I think you are overreacting. He's a good guy."

"You know how well I pick up on things though. I don't trust him." I said. "I really don't want to go on a hunt with him."

"If you don't want to go, you can stay at the hotel. I won't make you go."

"You sure? Dean said I had to help."

"Yeah. You can stay. I'll tell them you were feeling sick. If you're uncomfortable, we won't make you go. I'm sure Dean will understand."

"Ok. Thanks Dad. I'm sorry."

"Don't apologize, Alex. It's ok." He said as we pulled into the hotel parking lot. We went into the room. Dean was geared up and ready. I sat on one of the beds.

"What's up with her?" Dean asked my dad.

"Jack rubbed her the wrong way. She's doesn't want to go. Is that ok?"

"Yeah. If she's not comfortable going, she doesn't have to go. I understand." My dad took the bags to the car. "I'm sorry kiddo. Jack bugs me too." I nodded and he started to leave. "Oh yeah, Alex. Don't open the door for anyone. We have a key."

"Got it." I replied and they left.
