Chapter 37

After a few days, we found a case. Vampires in an abandoned building not too far from the bunker. We headed out one morning. The car ride was incredibly boring- a good 10 hours, and we wouldn't even get to the bunker until at least 2 in the morning. The day drug on until it started raining. I loved the rain. It was so calming and peaceful. I loved to be like a little kid and have races with the raindrops on the window. I had a huge smile on my face and I was no longer bored.

"Why are you suddenly so happy Alex?" Dean asked

"I just love the rain. It's so peaceful and makes me happy. It's as if the rain is the one constant good thing in the world." Dean chuckled.

"What?" I asked

"It's crazy how much you are like your mom. She loved the rain too." I chuckled a little back, and we spent the remaining hours either asleep or daydreaming. We got to the bunker around 2:30 am. We instantly headed to bed so we would have energy to fight the vampires the next day.

I slept surprisingly well considering what had happened only a couple days before. I didn't have any nightmares or anything. My dad woke me up the next morning. I was exhausted, but I still got up. He didn't instantly leave my room though.

"You sure you want to hunt with us? If you aren't ready for it, don't push yourself."

"I'm fine dad. I'm going with you guys."

"Ok. I was just checking." He said as he left. I quickly got dressed and headed out with the boys. It was a short ride seeing as how the city is pretty small. We got to the abandoned building which really looked more like a barn. We busted down the door, and we were all surprised by what we saw.... Hundreds of vampires. It was overwhelming actually. We could never fight off all of them. At least that's what I thought.
