"Rafe?" you mumbled into the phone. You didn't even know why you were calling him. You haven't talked to him in a while since your fight, but now all you wanted was him. You longed to feel safe in his arms as you once did, but after your spat about your love life, you decided you didn't need his constant distrust and negativity so you didn't talk. He wanted to give you your space and when you both didn't make an effort to speak to the other, no one spoke at all. You honestly didn't want to call him. You had called Topper first, but he didn't answer, and neither did Kelce.

"Y/n? Are you okay? What's going on?" He could hear the music and commotion of rowdy teens behind you, but what he heard that concerned him most were your sniffles and shaky voice.

"I- shit I shouldn't have called. I'm sorry." Right before you were about to end the call, you heard him protest loudly.

"No! No, y/n, if something's wrong, then I'm here for you. Now tell me what happened." You sighed as your eyes flitted to the ground and tears clouded your vision.

"You're just gonna say you told me so," you pouted. That was another reason why you didn't want to call him. You were sure he'd throw it in your face that he was right in your argument all along.

"No, I know we haven't talked in a bit, but you're still my best friend." Another sigh fell past your lips while more tears sprung to your eyes.

"JJ and I... we got into a little fight and then we went to this kegger tonight and I know he was a little drunk and I shouldn't hold it against him because he wasn't in his right mind, but he kissed another girl, like was basically sucking the girl's face off and-"

"Where are you?" Rafe's question cut off your devastated rambling and you looked around to see where you had wandered off to.

"I'm about to pass The Wreck. Why?"

"I'm coming to get you."

"No, Rafe, you don't have to-" He cut you off again.

"I'm coming, y/n," he stated, firm and stern.

"Okay," you breathed out and ended the call while you waited for him. You reached the restaurant before sitting at one of the outside tables and seeing the black truck you knew all too well. The emotion of what you had dealt with tonight and of seeing Rafe for the first time in ages overcame you and you broke out into tears when you saw him walking towards you, opening his arms for you to stand in. Being back in that spot and feeling the warm presence of your best friend was exactly what you needed and what you had been missing.

"You know I'd always come for you, right?" he mumbled into your hair.

"What?" you inquired, leaning back to get a better look at him.

"I'd come for you," he repeated before wiping away some of your tears, "No matter what, when you need me, I will be there."

"I'm sorry about our fight," you whispered, hiding your face in his chest.

"No, I'm sorry for never reaching out. I was wrong."

"No Rafe, you were right and it was shown tonight. Can I, um, stay the night at your place? I told my parents I was staying at JJ's and I don't want to face them right now because they were right about him too." Rafe's eyes softened at you before he nodded.

"Yeah, I've missed our sleepovers."

"I've missed you," you told him honestly while snuggling deeper in his embrace.

"I missed you too, y/n, so much."
