"No matter what I do, I'll always disappoint him, y/n. I'm so tired of it," Rafe told you as he sighed. He was angry but he was tired too so he wasn't super riled up.

"I know you are baby but listen. You are doing so good. You have a good job and a good family so who cares what Ward thinks," you spoke honestly to him.

"I try not to but I think there's a part of me that always will." Just as he said it, your little girl came waltzing into the living room where you two were talking. She must've woken up from her nap. Normally, she goes to you right after waking up, but she went to Rafe first.

"Did you sleep good sweetheart?" he asked the little girl before straightening his posture and removing all traces of anger from his expression.

"Yes daddy," she mumbled as she held her teddy bear close to her chest while she settled into his lap. "Will you come play dolls with me?"

Rafe looked to you with the largest smile and you nodded at him to go upstairs with your daughter. Rafe nodded before he followed the little girl to her playroom. It was like she knew he was dealing with something and wanted to help take his mind off of it.
