"Woah, woah, Rafe. Calm down. It's okay. You're okay," you attempted to calm the seething boy who paced back and forth in front of you.

"Calm down? Y/n, I just got kicked out!" he shouted before he ran a hand through his hair and tugged at the strands in frustration.

"Yeah, but you can stay here with me! I don't mind and honestly, it might be better for you than staying with your dad!" you yelled right back, standing from where you were sitting on the kitchen counter and stopping Rafe from pacing any further.

"You know what, y/n? Maybe he's right. I mean he hates me. Who doesn't? You used to hate me too and probably still do. Everyone hates me so why be here?" Your eyes widened before you grabbed his face in your hands, forcing him to look at you.

"No, Rafe. Listen to me. I don't hate you and neither does everyone else. Please don't say that about yourself. Please don't believe that. You're so much more than that. You're so..." you trailed off, trying to find the right words.

"Infuriating," he offered but you shook your head as tears pooled in your eyes. You loved the damn kid in front of you and hated to see him like this, in so much pain. It was breaking your heart and you wanted to shout from the rooftops how much you loved and admired him.

"Lovable. Amazing. Strong. Capable. Admirable. Rafe, you are so much more than what your father says you are and I wish you could see yourself how I see you," you told him, a few tears slipping down your cheeks. Rafe brought his hands to your cheeks and his thumbs glided over them, pushing the fresh tears to the side.

"You really care about me, don't you?" he questioned almost in disbelief while cradling your face in his hands.

"Yes Rafe, I do. I just want to see you happy and safe," you whispered into the space between you before Rafe wrapped his arms tightly around you. Your arms found his neck while his secured around your waist.

"I'm happiest when I'm with you so I'll stay, okay? I'll stay here with you."

"Okay."
