"And they just want me to be this perfect little princess that they envision and I don't know if I can be that much longer, Rafe. I'm going to lose my mind if I keep living to their standards. That's not what I want to do," you spilled to your best friend as you two sat on the dock behind his house, feet dangling mere inches above the water's surface.

"Then don't. Y/n, you could be so much more if you didn't. You don't want to go into the business they want. You want to travel a little before finding the spot where you will put your bakery and you want to spend the rest of your days baking and spending time with the family you create." You stared at the water below you as Rafe's words filled your head.

"But what if that's not good enough?" you spoke softly as you watched a small fish swim beneath the dock.

"Y/n," Rafe spoke as he grabbed your hand. Your eyes shot to his hand before following up to meet his baby blues. "That is a hundred percent good enough. If your parents can't see that, then fuck them but you're perfect the way you are. Nobody can tell me any different."

You swung a leg over his lap and wrapped your arms around his neck. You were forever thankful to have him in your life because without him, you would have definitely gone insane from your parents.

"Thank you, Rafe," you whispered as his arms tightened around your torso. Keeping your arms around him, you pulled your face away and leaned in to give him a small peck on the cheek but he turned his head at the last second to press his lips to yours.

"Rafe!" you shouted as a smirk played on his lips.

"What? You know you liked it." He wiggled his eyebrows playfully and a giggle escaped you.

"Well, maybe a little bit but that's beside the point."

"And what is the point exactly?" he questioned as he leaned closer to you. You leaned over to him and connected your lips once more.

"Just let me know first and we can kiss all you want."
