"They shouldn't find us here," Rafe spoke softly as he pulled you into the trees next to the beach where the kegger was happening. Rafe picked a good spot. It's secluded and a perfect place to hide from your friends.

"Now, where were we the other day?" he asked as his hand slipped behind your head to pull you closer.

"At your house or on the beach?" you brought up the last two instances where you two were rudely interrupted but you had to endure it. Rafe was a kook and you were a pogue. On this island, you're supposed to hate each other but you didn't. You didn't feel even an ounce of hatred for the tall blue-eyed blondie before you.

"Both," he whispered right before you two closed your eyes and brought your lips closer to each other's but they never made contact because you two were broke apart by people pulling you.

"Did he hurt you, y/n? Because if he did, I swear to God, I'll-" JJ started as he looked you over to see if anything was wrong with you.

"You'll what, pogue?" Topper spat as his hands were wrapped around Rafe's biceps.

"You don't wanna know what I'll do," JJ snarled at the Thornton boy. You slipped out of JJ's grip and turned to face him.

"Can we not fight right now?" you pleaded with him but he only returned you with a look of utter shock.

"Y/n? Did you not see what he was about to do? He was about to kiss you. How can you-"

"I wanted him to kiss me, you idiot! I like him and I want him to be able to kiss me whenever we want but we have to hide because of you and the pogues and because of you and Kelce," you shouted at JJ and Topper.

"If Sarah and John B can be together and everyone can be okay with it, why can't it be the same for me and Rafe?" Both boys stayed silent while Rafe wore a proud grin.

"Now if you two don't mind, I'm gonna kiss my boyfriend." Your choice of words made Rafe's smile grow as you waltzed over to him and planted your lips against his. The feeling was euphoric and it was even better now that y'all didn't have to do it in private. Rafe could kiss you wherever and whenever now and he couldn't be happier.
