Andrew and I stand patiently at Ben's bedside when he starts to wake up. Lily and Edward hurry into the room with a couple of nurses, his grandma is excited at the possibility of him waking up. Edward points out Ben's fluttering eyelids.

"So when he realizes that you are in the next room, how will he react?" Andrew grins at me.

"He better get off his lazy butt and come to me." I joke.

"I'm sure he will." Andrew laughs for the first time since meeting him.

Ben's eyes open, I'm filled with mixed emotions. I'm happy that he is alive, but I'm sad that he is no longer with me. However, the saddest part of this whole journey, neither of us will remember the amazing talks we shared in this world.

After a couple hours, and many checks. Ben is up and alert. Lily kisses his cheek. "We are so happy that you came back to us."

"Ally?" He whispers.

Ben is trying to sit up in his bed. Edward grabs him by the shoulder and pushes him back to the bed, but this makes him more agitated.

"Ben you've been shot. You need to relax." Edward tells his grandson.

"Where is Ally?" His voice is raspy from the vent tube they removed that morning.

Lily looks at the nurse for answers and I can feel her struggling between telling him the truth or lying to him to keep him in bed.

"She's here in the next room." The bigger nurse with a bad dye job tells him with a soft voice.

"I need to see her." Ben says louder.

"No. You need to stay in your bed and rest. Mr. Beneventi you've been through enough." She scolds him.

It is tough watching my strong Ben so weak and helpless.

Ben waits until the nurse turns her back before he climbs out of the bed. He tears the IV from his arm, and clumsily stubbles towards the door.

I don't hide my smile watching his bare bottom sneak from the room, a person could really love those hospital gowns.

Andrew is shaking his head at the act of defiance. Lily tries to stop Ben, but he glares at her and begs her to not stop him. Edward get to the door and stands in front of Ben, yelling at him to get back in bed and stop being stupid.

"I need to be next to her. She needs to know that I'm still going to fight with her. I want her to know that I won't let her go."

Andrew's eyes pop from his head and I snap my head at him. "You said we wouldn't remember."

"It's very rare. I've witnessed it." He whispers.

Ben is so agitated and aggressive that they let him walk into my room at a turtle's pace. He is exhausted and gasping for air when he collapses in the chair next to my bed. Blood is running down his arm and dropping in perfect circles on the white floor below us.

He moves next to my ear and starts whispering. "Fight. Baby, fight your way back to me. I can't do this without you." He cries.

"Mr. Beneventi, you have to get back into your bed." The doctor running into the room tells him.

"I will...once you move me into this room." He glares at him.

"We can't do that."

"I'm a cop and say you can."

"Mr. Beneventi? Please come back to your room." The doctor frowns in his direction.

"Andrew, don't let her give up. Please. I need her." Ben says looking around the room.
