A baby crying makes me open my eyes and I look right at Ben. Tears form in his eyes, and I watch him a breathe a giant sigh of relief. He looks above me and thanks Andrew for bringing me back to him.

I bring my hand to my face, slowly I start pulling on the oxygen tube in my nose. It feels weird and I don't like it.

"Ally, don't. You need that." Ben says leaning over the bed and kissing me quickly on the lips.

He brings the baby into view, I can feel my lips trying to smile at them. Ben holds up her tiny hand and makes her wave at me. He whispers welcome back mommy.

"I'm tired." I whisper up at him.

He nods, "I know. It's okay to sleep, you're back now. Rest. We'll be here when you wake up." He smiles at me.

"Don't leave." I beg feeling the heavy pull on my eyelids.

"Never again." He promises.

Over the next couple of weeks, I start making incredible progress towards the recovery that no one thought was possible. I started walking on my own with a little help and spent most days asking every staff member when I could be released. I want nothing more than to break free of the hospital for good.

My spirits would drop when they told me I wasn't close to discharge yet.

"Do you remember anything?" Bens asks me over our Shake Shack dinner.

"Not really." I answer slurping my soda. "I remember walking into the bar and realizing I screwed up. I'm sorry, I had no idea that bar housed so much evil."

His smile warms me from head to toe. "Shut it, you didn't screw up, and you have nothing to be sorry for."

A month later, I'm finally discharged and clear to travel. Ben informs the nursing staff that we will be flying to Vancouver the next morning. He wants to know all the help I may need once we land.

Leaving the hospital is a wonderful feeling. The air hits me the moment we are outside, and I close my eyes to enjoy the breeze on my skin. The sun warming me.

"So where are we going?" I ask him.

"Megan's townhouse in Brooklyn. I gave up the apartment the moment I knew New York was only temporary, we are on the earliest flight tomorrow so we can start our happily ever after." He grins.

"Cheesy, but I like it." I giggle resting my head on his shoulder.

"Alex and Renee took the kids home last night, your doctor may have hinted at your discharge today."

"What? Dang it...I really want to hold them."

"Soon." He laugh.

The towncar stops in front of Central Park. Ben opens his door and hurries over to mine. The sun blinds me for a moment while I adjust to the light from my open door.

"I have a surprise for you." He smiles holding out his hand for me to grab.

The two of us walk at a slowly pace then we normally would. I'm still a little sore and stiff. Ben stops in front of a little rustic shelter with two wooden benches, the lake in front of the shelter has floating lanterns and the shelter has twinkle lights hanging around it. It's being guarded by a uniformed officer.

"Sam?" I smile at his former partner.

"Welcome back." She hugs me quickly. "Now is my que to leave."

Ben grabs my hand and turns me to face him. The grin isn't disappearing from his face and I'm starting to suspect he's up to something.

"What do you have cooking in that brain of yours?"
