"Allyson, you'll sleep with Jack tonight, right?" John laughs in my direction back at the high-top table from hell.
My roommates break into laughter, John and Jack give each other high fives for the lewd comment. I shake my head, ignoring their drunkenness.
15 minutes. I countdown when I can finally leave.
"She hasn't brought anyone to the house. Maybe she's not into guys?" Beth slurs loud enough for the entire room to hear.
Heather reaches across the table and puts her hand on my right breast, she squeezes, and I glare at her. "Nope, nothing. Jack, you try."
When his hand is close, I grab for it and twist it behind his back. "Don't even think about it." I snarl at him.
Bobby and Ben are at the table in a blink. "Ally, is there a problem?" Ben asks.
"Nothing I can't handle." I say through my teeth.
"It's time that you guys pack up and leave." Bobby says putting his hands on the table and looks at all of them.
All of them look at each other with big eyes. I don't think they ever thought they would be kicked out of a bar. When they refuse, Bobby tells them one more time to leave or the cops can help them out.
Ben grabs my hand and starts pulling me towards the bar. "Um, good night, Bobby." I giggle at him.
"Night, Baby Doll. Don't hurt him." He smiles.
"Well, that wouldn't be fun." I joke.
I'm grinning from ear to ear as he pulls me through the kitchen and out the back exit door. The cool air feels nice against my boiling skin. I take a couple deep breaths before Ben starts laughing. When I look at him, he asks me to remind him to never make me angry.
"I know how to handle myself." I tell him.
He nods. "Clearly."
My heart drops to my stomach when I see what he is pulling us towards. Ben must feel my nervousness, he turns to look at me with questioning eyes.
"I'm not sure I want to get on that." I swallow hard.
Ben grins in front of his motorcycle. Normally, I would think it was sexy, but I've never imagined being on the back of one. My legs are shaking with fears.
"I'll go slow." He promises.
I nod and he picks me up and places me on the bike. He throws his leg over the seat and starts the bike up. "Wrap your arms around my waist and don't let go."
Scared, I wrap my arms around him tightly and tell him the directions to my house. Laughing, he tells me to ease up my grip just a bit so he can breathe. Closing my eyes, I put my cheek on his back.
Please don't let me die this way.
We dart forward and my grip tightens again. I feel him laughing, this brings a smile to my face. I open one eye and see the city blurring past us. The wind is whipping my hair in all directions, and I know I'll look like a hot mess when we get to the townhouse.
There is something magically about this moment. My arms wrapped around him tightly, trusting him completely with my life, and he is going slower than I imagine he's ever gone. I smile thinking about my parents freaking out seeing me on the back of a bike. I don't know if they can see me, but I pretend they can and still try to make them proud.
We stop in front of the large, colonial townhouse in Beacon Hill. One of the most expensive neighborhoods in Boston. Ben is looking at it with awe and I couldn't fault him, I love this house. That's part of the reason I'm still with the mean girls.
