The smell of bacon woke me up from my dead sleep, I reach for his side of the bed, and it is freezing cold. Ben has been gone for quite some time. I walk into my bathroom and grab my robe from the hook.

Quickly, I brush my teeth and walk down the steps to the kitchen. I'm expecting to see our chef, Jon, but instead it is Ben behind the stove and looking adorable. Smiling, I take a seat at the large breakfast bar and watch him cook. His back is to me and I don't think he heard me come into the kitchen.

"What are you doing?" I giggle.

He spins around and looks at me. Ben is wearing one of my headbands to keep his long hair out of his face, this look only glorifies his gorgeous blue eyes and chiseled cheekbones.

Ben comes to my side and gives my forehead a quick kiss. "Good morning, beautiful. I sent the help home and told them they have the next couple of weeks off because I'm here."

"Why would you do that? I don't know how to cook a single thing, and I don't want you spending your entire vacation cooking me meals. Ben, I want this Christmas to be special for you. You are supposed to be relaxing and falling in love with Vancouver." I pout.

"Stop worrying that pretty face. I have everything under control." He goes back to the stove.

I stand from the breakfast bar and move towards the windows. My head snaps towards lights coming from the corner of the living room. The biggest tree is standing tall with lights draped around it. It looks just the way my mom used to light it.

"What? How?" I stutter looking at him across the room.

"Marcia told me where everything was and where all the other decorations go in the house. I was thinking that maybe we could decorate after breakfast."

Marcia is our housekeeper. She has been part of the family longer than I have. She adored my parents.

I hurry to Ben and wrap my arms around him. The man is amazing. "When did you have time to do all this?"

He lets out a little chuckle. "Well...it's noon."

"IT'S NOON." I shout looking for a clock. "NO! I have so much planned for us to do today. I was going to take you downtown for some shopping and lunch."

"Ally, we have two weeks in this beautiful city of yours, and I don't think it's going anywhere soon. Now, take a seat and let your man serve you breakfast."

My plate of food was something worthy of a photo. Ben made a perfect omelet with bacon and spinach. My food was a equal ratio of strawberries and purple grapes, the green were too sour for me. The toast was golden with the right amount of butter.

While we eat breakfast, I tell him how big of a task of setting up the house is, and he doesn't bat an eye. My parents always put up two large trees, one in the living room and the other in the foyer. We had slightly smaller ones for the bedrooms. Everything around the house will be draped in garland and twinkle lights.

Twinkle lights were my favorite thing about Christmas.

"At some point today, we need to hit Granville. I need to get all the fresh flowers for around the house, and all the baked goods I ordered last month." I smile at my boyfriend.

"Granville?" He raises his eyebrow at me.

"It's the huge public market on the island. Whatever you could think of needing, they have it. It's pretty much the best place on earth." I brag to him.

An alarm sounds around the house, making us both jump in our chairs. It takes me a minute to realize what it is.

"CRAP." I blush jumping off my stool.
