y/n pov:
today was one of the most stressful days of my life. let's start off by saying, i have a girlfriend of 3 and a bit years, her name is florence, she's amazing. but she hasn't had the best health history, she has tracheomalacia, which is the collapse of the airway when breathing. this means that sometimes when she exhales, the trachea narrows or collapses so much that it may feel hard to breathe. she's had points in her life where it has been hard having tracheomalacia, but it's never been a life or death situation, she's always got through it okay. that was except from today. i was walking into my house, that flo and i share, i had just finished a long shift and i should have been back an hour ago, but i texted flo beforehand and she said it was okay. but i go into the house and it's all good.....

*back in time, to just walking through the door*
"flo" no response "flo babe, it's me" silence "it's y/n, where are you?" there is still no response so i start to panic, i run to the living room, she's not there, i check the dining room, she's not there, i check our bedroom she's not there. i look in literally every part of our house and she was no where. so the first thing i do is pick up my phone and i see 9 missed calls? 3 from flo, 4 from flo's brother and 2 from an unknown number. i ring flo first obviously and there's no answer, it goes straight to voicemail "hey flo, babe, it's me y/n. i can't find you and i'm sorry i missed your calls, so when you get this, call me back please. i love you" i say into the voicemail machine. now since flo didn't answer i rang Toby, florence's brother. he picks up straight away, "y/n! where are you?" he says through the phone "i just got home, i haven't checked my phone is everything okay? i can't find florence"
"she's in hospital y/n. she rang 999 (or 911 whatever your emergency number is where you live aha) her tracheomalacia was playing up, she's fine now, they put her to sleep and they are going to do surgery to help her"
"oh my god, which hospital, im getting in my car now" i say while shutting the car door
" y/l/h (your local hospital)"
"okay i'll be there in 10"

*time skip 10 minutes*
i practically run into the hospital and to the front desk, there's a lady i assume is the admin and i start talking to her
"hi i'm y/n y/l/n, i'm here to see Florence Pugh? she recently came in"
"Florence.....what was it?" she says looking at me
"Pugh, i'm her girlfriend and i need to see her so, could you tell me what room she's in please?" i say rushing as i want to see florence soon
"Pugh...ah yes i've found her she is in room 17A floor 3" she said smiling at me
"thank you" i say and then rush to the elevator and get to room 17A

"Toby!!" i say as i see my girlfriend's brother. "y/n, hi, florence is fine, she's just resting now, the surgery went well from what the doctor told me" he says smiling and giving me a hug "oh good, can i go in and see her?"
"i think she's sleeping but sure, just that door there" he says pointing to the room flo is in "thanks"

as i walk into the room i see flo laying in the hospital bed sleeping. i smiled, realising she was going to be okay. i move quietly to the other side of the room and sit on the visitor's chair next to her bed. "ahh flo, you'll be okay" i whisper, i think it was more of a reassurance to me rather than the sleeping woman infront of me. "i was worried about you, please don't scare me like that again, i love you" i whisper with a few tears dropping from my eyes. i carefully grab her hand and take hold of it and kiss it gently and i look down
"i love you too"
i look up to see flo giving me a gentle smile and i wipe my tears away and smile at her
"i'm going to be fine, don't worry my love" she says reassuringly
i nod "your very strong Florence Pugh"
"you are very brave y/n y/l/n"
i smile and kiss her hand again
