Sometimes facing your first fear will dwindle them into nothing, and you get to see that the big bad monster you feared was nothing but a manifestation of the unknown.

It should be extremely alarming to find the new girl aquatinted with one of the originals. Damon and Jeremy both saw the exchange, but Damon could see and hear the familiarity Elijah regarded her with.

Both Damon and Jeremy exchanged quick glances at each other, each of them held different emotions.

"I think it's better we speak somewhere more private" Elijah suggested scanning the place. He would have this conversation with prying eyes and ears around them.

She had grown up; Elijah noted with a smile. He remembered her as the young and scared child who was walking aimlessly with unfocused eyes in the highway.

Daniella only nodded her head and they exited the Grill together. Her heart was hammering in her chest. She knew seeing him here couldn't be a coincidence.

"Is there a place you'd rather go to be comfortable?" Elijah asked with a quick glance at her.

Daniela let out a breath, but shrugged, "it doesn't really matter"

He nodded and guided her to his car. He decided to have this conversation at the mansion.

They drove in silence, one that was too tense for her liking. She focused on her hands, fidgeting with her fingers.

"You have grown up well Daniella" Elijah said in his kindest voice. "Your hair is much shorter now"

Daniella wasn't very good at small talk when nervous. She just wanted him to come out with it and tell her why he needed her.

"It was about time to make some changes" She replied, her eyes focused on the blurring building they passed. Elijah only hummed and they resumed their silence.

The car came to a stop by a mansion that took Daniella by surprise. It was extravagant to say the least.

Elijah guided her inside and he could already hear Rebekah on her room and his brother, Kol. That could be troublesome.

At least his mother and Finn were not around. It was something that caused him great relief.

They took a seat and Daniella couldn't keep quiet anymore. She tried to act calm but her anxiousness was obvious.

"I will make the guess that this is not a social visit"

Elijah nodded, "You remember our deal from years ago?" She nodded slowly.

She knew he would come for her at some point. He knew it would happen. You cannot make a deal with the devil and expect said devil to just forgot about you.
