Daniella remembered a time when her mother thought she was absolutely crazy. She remembered how her mother had told tried so hard to convince her that the voices were only in her head, that her visions coming true was just a coincidence, and that the death of Stella was not her fault.Suzan had tried to so hard to convince her daughter that everything was in her head.
Daniella was laying in an unfamiliar bed, in a strange room. Her eyes remained closed and on the outside she looked so serene and peaceful.
But her mind wouldn't keep quiet.
She could feel it, him, in her mind. It was a silent presence, yet it somehow resonated within her so much.
It was at that moment that she wished her mother's words to be true. She wished she were insane and all that had happened was only in her head.
"But you know it isn't"
Valkov replied in a bored tone.
It was strange really, because she could remember how terrified she had been when she heard him for the first time.
She was thirteen when he roared so loud in her mind almost rendering her deaf. She still remembered his anger that was a reaction to her pain.
She hated the second voice inside of her; she feared it. But she was far too young and weak to understand what was happening.
Nobody has prepared her for that.
He wasn't as petrifying as she had thought. Valkov talked to her and explained to her how they would work together while inhabiting the same body.
He would always be there, because he was the magic fueling her powers. Daniella had no powers of her own, non of the Redmond line did.
They would practice together, but at first he would be guiding her through it all.
The idea of him was still unsettling and feeling him inside her mind could at least be called uncomfortable.
When Elijah had found her, he explained to her what was happening. He made it his job to explain her family history in depth.
There was a soft knock on the door, and she heard him like a faint whisper in her head. "Elijah and the witch"
She couldn't help but flinch at the intrusive voice in her mind.
Elijah, indeed, entered the room cautiously with Lucinda trailing behind him.
"I believe you have reached an agreement" Elijah said and Daniella nodded her head in confirmation.

Elijah had driven her back home. He told her of a ball his family was holding in the honor of his recently awakened mother.
They stood at her porch, Daniella had already thanked him and as she made a move to enter her house, Elijah stopped her.
"It is very important that you attend tomorrow night, Daniella. I cannot trust the intentions of my mother towards Niklaus"
It was moments like this that made Daniella see that Elijah was more than an original vampire.
