Turning off Elena's emotions seemed like the only way to break the sire bond. Feelings. Daniella had been dwelling into the idea for a very long time.

Damon was standing in her kitchen whistling a tone he wasn't sure where he had heard.

He was content.

Although he hadn't talked with Daniella about his confession, and a part of him worried that she didn't feel the same way or at least that Elijah had manged to sway her heart to him.

The hold of the blood.

It was something that worried him, scared him too. He got to experience it first hand with Charlotte; she was such a distant memory now that he came to think about it. And now, Elena.

He heard her heartbeat along with her footsteps as she came closer to him. Sauntering into the kitchen with simple jeans and a red shirt. In spite of the simplicity of her look, she stirred something in him.

There were just so many emotions when she's involved. Love, desire, lust, longing. There were so many of them and none seemed satisfied.

"One would think you live here" She said with a raised eyebrow, then took a seat on the stool of the kitchen island.

"You wish" he wiggled his eyebrows playfully then flipped the pancake.

"Is it the only thing you can cook?" She glanced at the pan, "Pancakes cant be that healthy".

Damon chuckled, "I promise on our dinner date I'll make you a wicked pasta".

Daniella chuckled, "I like your wishful thinking".

"It isn't wishful if I know it will happen". Damon said with a confidence and a great deal of arrogance that didn't match all the insecurities he felt.

Daniella only shook her head, trying to contain the smile on her face. She told herself that she can pretend for a while that they were okay. She could pretend that she wasn't keeping secrets from him or that Elena was not looming over their heads.

Too soon, Damon spoke, awakened her from the make-believe she wanted to have. "You think you'll be able to use your powers? For this whole Elena situation". He put a plate in front of her and Daniella took her first bite.

She nodded her head firmly, "Valkov told me his magic could force her emotions off"

"In order for the sire bond to be broken, permanently, we must wait a day and a night before turning it back on"

Valkov said in her mind, and it was a headache full force the started with his words. She winced discretely and hoped that Damon hadn't seen it. It has been getting easier with the blood, but Elijah wasnt around to give her his.

Daniella told him what had been told, but Damon only noticed one thing. "It's hurting you! He's hurting you."

She shook her head, which proved itself to be a bad idea, "It's fine".

A soft knock on her door, interrupted whatever Damon had to argue with. She hopped off the stool, but Damon made a move to tell her to stay and that he would open the door.

"Elijah, you seem to be everywhere lately" Damon said with annoyance lacing his voice.

"Well, one must be when needed" He threw the words fully intending to relay the message to the younger vampire. Elijah ignored his presence and walked inside brushing by Damon's shoulder softly.

Damon stood at the door with a sneer, then walked inside. "How do you feel today, dear Daniella?"

Daniella greeted him with a smile and a small shrug, "As good as I can be".
