Sitting with Jeremy and Lisa during lunch hour has become something normal. Usually they would be surrounded by some others, like Jake or Mary and Judy, but not today.

Lisa was teasing Jeremy about one thing or another, Daniella couldn't keep up with them any more. However, she was busy with something else.

Her eyes were focused on a crow sitting on the branch of the tree above them. She knew it was an outrageous idea, but Daniella believed it to be the one she had seen last night.

"Can someone have a crow as a pet?" She asked absent mindedly. Her chin was in the palm of her hand while her elbow rested on the table.

"Why would anyone want a crow for a pet?" The idea seemed outrageous for Lisa, "A crow is a bad omen, if you believe in that sort of thing"

"Why would you ask that?" Jeremy asked and his eyes trailed to where hers were before turning back to her. "It's not a very conventional pet"

Daniella shrugged easily, "I don't know, I've been seeing plenty of crows lately"

Damon hated that he couldn't talk to her, but he wasn't sure how to even initiate a conversation. She seemed to be doing fine, like his absence didn't affect her, while he couldn't even sleep at night.

The longer he waited, the harder it seemed.

After he was done watching her, he returned to the boardinghouse and Alaric followed right behind him.

He was placing the White oak stake underneath a pile of firewood. "I mean, did you learn nothing from the moonstone in the soap dish?" Alaric asked him with a contemplating look.

"Why? Where'd you put yours?" Before Alaric could say anything, they heard a noise from downstairs. Damon got up, "What the hell was that?" He asked leaving the room and walking down the stairs.

Suddenly, Damon saw Alaric being thrown down the stairs and falling to the floor. He looked up the stairs and turned around only to be stabbed in the stomach with a knife.

Damon was faced with a smiling Rebekah, "hello, lover." He knew she would make him payback for using her the way he did.

Daniella had been unsettled during the entire day and until very late at night. She had been lying on her bed for a couple of hours, trying to get any sleep or to even get her eyes closed.

It was to no avail though.

She let out a sigh and allowed herself to admit it for the millionth time that she missed him.

She was miserable.

No matter how much she liked spending time with her new friends, or how she enjoyed going out, she was still sad.

Damon had somehow left avoid within her, one she didn't know how to fill. He got under her skin and somehow became important to her.

Too important

She thought to herself with a scowl. She took the pillow from next to her and covered her face with it, letting out a frustrated scream.

It was around three in the morning that she managed to fall asleep. So, waking up to school felt like absolute torture.
