Daniella was staring at Damon slightly taken back by his presence. Lately, it seemed that he was everywhere. Wherever she went he was around; she wasn't sure what to make of that and she wasn't one to dwell.

"Shouldn't you be at school?" Damon asked with narrowed eyes, then smirked, "or are you trying to discover your darker side?"

"Shouldn't you be at school?" Damon asked with narrowed eyes, then smirked, "or are you trying to discover your darker side?"

She scoffed and tool back her seat with Damon following behind her. "I just didn't want to stay there any longer"

There were many other questions he wanted to ask, but one in particular was stuck in his head. When she was talking with Elijah, they had mentioned a demon living inside of her.

Although the idea of giving the word its literal meaning sounded ridiculous, he couldn't help but wonder.

Taking the seat Elijah had occupied before him, Damon couldn't stop his eyes from taking her in. The pale skin, petit figure, plum lips, and big green eyes. He couldn't imagine an ounce of evil in her.

Perhaps that's why he felt a slight worry about her, when he saw the tinge of sadness in her tone. Despite thinking that it would be some teenage drama, he couldn't help but ask her.

"What happened? Did someone took your number two pencil?" His voice was dripping with sarcasm, which apparently made her more upset.

He relaxed his back while watching her glaring daggers at him. She crossed her arm over her chest. "What do you want, Damon?"

He rolled his eyes, "an answer to my question"

She gave a frustrated sigh, "Jeremy decided to officially end our friendship." Her voice was small and she casted her eyes down. Her fingers played with the handle of her cup of coffee, "It's not that I blame him or anything, but I don't know..."

Staring at her coffee, she wasn't sure what to say or if she even should say anything. Damon was not her friend; she knew they could never be friends. But she had no one to talk to, not even her mother.

She felt the burn of tears again, so she swallowed the lump in her throat followed by a small sip of her coffee. She knew she couldn't and shouldn't just cry in front of him. It was only few hours ago that the vampire had tried to kill her.

"You're upset over baby Gilbert? Seriously?" Damon crinkled his nose like he found the notion to be absolutely absurd.

She crossed her arms over her chest, "Hey, Jeremy is a really good person and we were trying to be friends and I really don't have many of those."

The thought of having no one resurfaced again, not like it had ever disappeared or anything. Suddenly, she was overwhelmed with the need to run back home and throw herself in her mother's embrace and cry her heart out.

She shook the thought away for she knew it was impossible. Her mother wouldn't even look at her. "You know I really have no one and I just thought... Like maybe I could have a friend"
