She could feel the life draining from her. He was drinking her blood while holding her in a death grip. Daniella writhed in his arms, but there was no use.

She screamed on top of her lungs, hoping that anyone would save her. However, she knew there was only her mother in the house.

She could feel self getting weaker, her feet no longer carrying her weight. Her body slumped and she couldn't help but wonder if that was her end.

Daniella had read on many stories, how when a character was dying their life flashed in front of their eyes like a movie. Some even recalled precious moments which they hold dear to there heart.

Daniella didn't have any of that. She thought on the brink of death one ought to be afraid, petrified at the prospect of having their life end so abruptly, so quickly. Because no matter how long you live, life still feels too short.

She just wanted to know, why he was doing this. Why Damon decided to end her life. She only wanted to know, then she will welcome her death with open arms.

She managed to let out the question weakly, "Why?"

Something snapped inside of him at that moment. Damon wasn't sure what brought him to her. Why he would always end up finding her in his worst moments.

But what he really wanted to know was why he was drinking her sweet delicious blood. He could hear her heartbeats going fainter.

He pulled away from her neck, licked the few droplets falling from the wound he opened and held her onto his body.

He knew she was already unconscious. So he carried her to her bed bridal style, and carefully laid her down.

He brushed a strand of her out of her face, caressing her face with his finger. His eyes were filled with guilt looking at her.

Damon sat on the edge of the bed next to her, looking at her face, but his mind drifted to the memories of the night and how he ended up at her room.

He pulled up in front of the Old Witch House with Stefan. "If we do this it will wreck her"

Stefan told him what he already knew. Killing Bonnie was their only choice to cut the connection between Esther and the Bennett line.

They were doing this to save Elena; Elijah was clear that if they don't follow his orders, he'd let Rebekah kill Elena.

Damon looked at the ruins before him and without turning to his brother he replied, "she will hate us, but thing is she only has to hate one of us"

Damon suggested tossing a coin. He flipped the coin then tossed it. When he caught it, he put it on the back of his other hand.

They both looked at it and exchanged knowing glances. The decision has been made, they knew at that moment what would be done.

While Stefan was advancing towards Bonnie, she begged him to not do this and they had no choice. Damon held Abby, Bonnie's mother, and bit his wrist feeding her his blood. Damon snapped her neck and walked away.

Elijah had kept his word and Rebekah spared Elena letting her go. When Stefan asked him why he had done that, although he knew Stefan should have killed, that he lost, Damon wasn't sure what to say.

He knew what he did was the only way to save Elena. But he knew it would have killed Stefan if Elena hated him. Damon decided he could take it.

His brother was trying to get better. He had only recently come out of his ripper binder and his love for Elena was in a way his saving grace. What kind of brother would he be to let his brother wallow in self pity and endless guilt?
