The doorbell at the Gilbert's resident rang and Stefan opened the door. He was welcomed with the sight of Damon holding Bonnie, who seemed to have a bite mark on her neck which was still dripping blood.

"We have a problem" Damon stated and Stefan guided the both of them inside.

Daniella opened her eyes to the sound of her doorbell ringing insistently. She got out of her bed with a groan and walked down the stairs to see who decided to grace her with their presence so early.

She opened the door and found Jeremy standing there with an angry look on his face. He marched right into the house and let out a tired breath, "please come in" she mumbled sarcastically, closing the door and following behind him.

"Alaric is dead". He told her with a straight face.

She froze for a second, before saying, "I'm so sorry. I ..." She wasn't sure what to say. She knew how much Jeremy appreciated the man and loved him. Jeremy had lost so much and so many people. Alaric was the father figure Jeremy needed and to lose that, he must be devastated.

He then started yelling her about what Esther did and how Alaric was left with Damon until he died.

He then started telling her about the events that occured in the morning before he went to her place. "I was home, you know? Elena and I were painting Alaric's room. We... I..." He let out a long breath and closed his eyes, "Just one day without vampires was all I wanted. Then Stefan showed up. It was like..."

"Like a reminder of every single bad thing that had been happening while you were trying to forget it all" Daniella took a seat next to him on the couch and put her palm over his back.

"I can't believe that Ric is dead" he shook his head, "I don't even know who to blame anymore"

"You don't have to put the blame on anyone, Jer. It's life. Just allow yourself to grief, feel the pain, accept it, embrace it. Alaric was a great guy, and even his death was for a greater good"

"I don't even know where to go from there" he said looking lost. His angry demeanor dissipated, and was replaced by one that was confused, worried, and Daniella couldn't help but resemble him to a lost child.

"You stay here" he turned to her and she continued, "you stay her with me, there's a shoulder to cry on and an infinite amount of support". They share a small sad smile, and Jeremy felt grateful to have such a friend.

However, he noticed something. She didn't look like herself anymore. Somehow she looked exhausted, pale, with dark circles around her eyes.

"Danny, you okay?" Jeremy asked her with worry lacing his voice and she simply nodded her head and gave him a small smile. Before he could question her further, his phone rang. "It's Elena"

"Perhaps you should take that, it could be important" She told him soft and got up to make a cup of coffee and give him some privacy.

While getting the cups, Jeremy rushed into the kitchen and with an urgent voice he said, "We have to go to my house. Bonnie gave blood to Alaric"

Daniella looked at him wide eyed, "What? He completed the transition?"

Jeremy only nodded stiffly, and Daniella let out a sigh. "Give me ten minutes"

That explained where Bonnie had gone in the middle of the night. It explained how she might not have called Elijah. Most importantly, it explained why Damon hadn't called or texted her.

She arrived at the Gilbert's house with Jeremy. Her hair was still damp from the quick shower she took, her face devoid of makeup, and the oversized sweatshirt she wore didn't help cover her sickly looks.
