They were at the salvage yard on the African Coast, where they knew Ultron would be going after Klaue.
They entered just as they heard Ultron yell: "Don't compare me with Stark!" and kicked Klaue down the stairs. "It's a thing with me. Stark is... He's a sickness!"
"Ah, Junior," Tony sighed as he, Steve and Thor walked forward on the bridge and met Ultron and the Maximoffs. "You're gonna break your old mans heart."
"If I have to," Ultron retaliated.
Lexie was sneaking by the wall underneath the bridge, on the side the enemy was on, ready to help when the fight started.
"Nobody has to break anything," Thor said.
"Clearly you've never made an omelet."
"He beat me by one second," Tony commented.
"Ah, yes. He's funny," Pietro Maximoff started walking a bit forward. "Mr. Stark. It's what? Comfortable?" He looked down at the bombs that was coincidentally right by where Lexie was hiding, but he didn't see her. "Like old times?"
"This was never my life," Tony looked there as well.
"You two can still walk away from this," Steve told the twins.
"Oh, we will," Wanda said smugly.
"I know you've suffered."
This made Ultron scoff and chuckle. "Captain America. God's righteous man. Pretending you could live without a war. I can't physically throw up in my mouth, but..."
"If you believe in peace, then let us keep it," Thor tried to reason.
"I think you're confusing 'peace' with 'quiet'."
"Uh-huh," Tony responded. "What's the vibranium for?"
"I'm glad you asked that, because I wanted to take this time to explain my evil plan," Ultrons metallic voice spoke again.
Lexie shook her head in an annoyed manner while he talked and muttered a quiet 'great' from her crouching position, her right leg was falling asleep and it felt like a million ants were crawling all over it.
But by the time Ultron had finished his sentence his hand activated and he pulled Tony towards him before sending him flying back.
"Shit, Ultrons gotten an upgrade," Lexie muttered to herself, standing up and pulling out her escrima stickas, activating them.
Tony and Ultron met in the middle and began fighting while Thor and Steve were busy with two of the minion bots.
Suddenly, soldiers began entering and shooting at everyone in sight, and Lexie was quick to jump forward and start fighting them, gaining the element of surprise. Out of the blue, Pietro came flying down, holding onto Thors hammer and crashed into one of the soldiers that were about to shoot Lexie. It didn't take a genius to figure out how that had happened.
When she heard the crash, Lexie turned around and saw them, letting out a short laugh. "Thanks for that," she nodded at the white-haired man.
"Shut up," he groaned.
When he tried to stand up, Lexie electrocuted him, causing him to fall back down. She didn't have them on full voltage, not even close, she had no intentions of killing him. "Stay down, bud," she said, before running off
"Thor, status," she heard Steve over the comms.
"The girl tried to warp my mind," the god responded as Lexie felt a presence behind her, before she could turn around, Wanda had used her magic. The last thing Lexie heard before she was pulled into a vision, was Thor saying "Fortunately, I a mightly," before the outside world faded.

She turned and looked around her, breathing quickened, and the first thing she saw was a HYDRA logo. When she tried to move, she realized that her hands and feet were in shackles and she was tied to a chair. She tried to get up, but her efforts were futile. A new presence joined the room from behind her, so she couldn't see them, but she heard his voice when he spoke up. "Your mission was a success, Subject." He had a german accent. When he stepped into view, she realized it was Baron Strucker. "The Avengers are dead."
The air left her lungs and tears welled up in her eyes as she stared up at him. "What?" she asked weakly. "Mission?"
"Your mission. To kill the Avengers." He grinned evilly. "You were efficient, merciless and brutal, just like you were trained to be."
She looked to her left and saw a recording playing on a loop. On the screen she could see herself taking down the Avengers, her family. She didn't even have to touch them, she could just look at them and make their hearts stop, or their lungs give out. It took minutes for them to die, but they were in no shape to fight while it was happening. They didn't even stand a chance. They couldn't get close enough to her to stop her.
Lexie couldn't tear her eyes away from the screen. This was it. This was her biggest fear. It had been since she was five years old and narrowly escaped HYDRAs grasp.
What she was seeing now, was the life she would've had if she hadn't escaped.
If S.H.I.E.L.D. hadn't gotten to her in time.
Reduced to nothing but a subject, a weapon, a killer.
She would've become the very thing she feared the most.
She would've lived up to the reputation of a necromancer.

A little drizzle of trauma, that's always nice. This is an Avengers book after all.
Hope you guys liked this chapter. We also got to see just how powerful Lexie could be. She's not necessarily there quite yet, but if you haven't noticed, throughout this book, she will only get more and more powerful.
I voted for the first time today, so I'm in a good mood.
Hope you have a great week. Vote and comment xx
