Lexie had been thrown in the same direction as Fury. She sat up, not having been injured too badly in the explosion, only some cuts and bruises, and looked at Fury who was panting, talking into his microphone. "Hill!" The two listened two Hills rundown of the situation and Fury began giving orders as he walked out of the room and through the halls, Lexie following, with a slight limp.

"Bring the carrier about to a 1-8-0, heading south!" Fury said as they walked onto the bridge. "Take us to the water! We're flying blind."

"Navigation's recalibrating after engine failure," an agent informed.

"Is the sun coming up?" Fury stalked towards him angrily.

"Yes, sir."

"The put it on the left. Get us over water. One more turbine goes down, and we drop," he then addressed Lexie, without turning to look at her. "Williams."

"Sir?" she perked up.

"Watch Loki."

The girl looked at him nervously, but only said "Yes, sir," and walked out.

Getting to Loki took more time than she'd anticipated. She'd ran into a few enemy soldiers and had to fight them while avoiding being shot, which proved to be a difficult task, though she'd been successful so far. Outside the room, she ran into Coulson, who was carrying some form of weapon. "Where'd you get that?" she asked wide-eyed.

"The weaponry," he smiled.

"Can I have one?" she asked excitedly.

"No," he deadpanned.

She pouted as the two walked silently into the room, hearing Loki say: "The humans think us immortal. Should we test that?" He stood by the controllers as Thor was the one trapped in the cage.

Coulson quickly hit the guard on the head and caught the gods' attention, before he pointed the weapon at Loki and said: "Move away, please."

Lexie activated the electric part on her escrima sticks and noticed Loki eyeing them distastefully.

"You like this?" Coulson continued, walking forward as Lexie stayed where she was. "We started working on the prototype after you sent the Destroyer. Even I don't know what it does," he activated it. "Do you want to find out?"

Before Lexie had could blink, Loki had suddenly appeared behind Coulson and had ran his Scepter through the agent. Lexie gasped and let out a scream.

"No!" she heard Thor shout and bang his fist at the glass, but the sound was muffled as she felt herself fill with rage. Coulson was fading fast, she knew he was dying, she felt it.

She ran towards Loki and was able to strike him down so he was kneeling. She stood behind him and laid her hands on either side of his face, draining him of life, as her hazel eyes turned black.

Through her blind fury, though, she noticed Loki laughing joyfully, as if she was doing exactly as he wanted, and she heard Coulson telling her to 'stop', that this wasn't who she is. The sentence: 'We both know how dangerous she could be if she lost control for even a second' flashed through her mind. She was doing exactly what Loki had hoped for. She was losing control, being led by anger. She was becoming everything she had worked all her life to not become: uncontrolled, vengeful, dangerous.

She pulled her hands away with a gasp, eyes returning to normal, her body drained from using her powers to kill an actual god, and she would've been successful too if she hadn't stopped. In her moment of weakness, though, Loki threw her body back, sending her flying off the railing and down to the story below, landing on the ground with a hard thud.

Thor felt his heart drop, not knowing if his new friend had been severely injured or not, or even if she was still alive. Loki turned and walked slowly to the computer, as much as he would deny it, he did feel greatly weakened after the child had attacked him, but he wouldn't show his brother that. He chuckled and removed the lid separating him from the button that would send his brother, who was watching him with hatred, plummeting to the ground. He opened the air chute and pressed the button, and Thor dropped.

Fury was crouching next to Coulson as the man was saying his dying words. "This was never gonna work if they didn't have something to..." he couldn't continue the sentence, and was fading in and out. Fury thought he was gone when he suddenly breathed in again and tried to move, not looking at Fury anymore, but somewhere behind him. "Lexie is..." but he just couldn't get the words out, letting out his last breath as his eyes became empty.

The Director hung his head, before he looked back to where Coulson had last looked. He stood up and walked over to the railing, and looked down.

There, on the floor, with a medic next to her checking her pulse and the extent of her injuries, was Lexie Williams, laying completely still.

He spoke into the microphone: "Agent Coulson is down."

"A medical team is on its way to your location," an agent told him.

"They're here. They called it," he paused before delivering the next piece of news. "Williams was here too. They're checking on her now. It's not looking good."

Natasha sunk to the ground, shaking. Steve looked down, before angrily slamming his fist into the wall. And Tony stared into thin air, feeling sick, remembering how, just a small hour ago, she was cracking jokes and making comments to make the situation a little bit more bearable.

I gotta admit, I've been really excited to publish this chapter. We finally got to see Lexies powers in action, and she could've killed Loki. Also, kinda loved ending the chapter on a bit of a cliffhanger.

I also got the first dose of the vaccine yesterday, finally. Things are finally starting to look up, and I can hopefully travel again soon because I miss it so much.

Vote and comment, and the next chapter will be up on Monday xx
