Later that evening, Lexie was sitting out on the stairs leading up to the porch. The others had left to go find Bruce in hopes that he might know something, since Tony didn't want to help. Lexie had stayed at the cabin with the Starks, and was planning to travel back to the Compound the next morning to join the others.

She had a cup of tea in her hand, one that Pepper had bought that would apparently help her sleep. In the other hand, she was holding her phone, scrolling through pictures of her and Erin on their third anniversary, when they'd travelled to Rome. There were also of pictures of the many times Peter had 'borrowed' her phone and taken a multitude of funny pictures.

She normally tried to avoid looking through the pictures of the people she'd lost, especially those two, not wanting the glaring reminder of everything she'd lost. Right now though, since they could be bringing them home, she figured it was an appropriate time to reminisce, and get the motivation she needed to face what had resulted in the most painful experience of her entire life: being forced to keep going without the person she had never been able to imagine living her life without.

When she heard the door behind her open, she looked over her shoulder to see Tony walking outside. He sat down beside her on the steps and sighed, rubbing his face.

"I figured it out," he looked over at her.

"What?" she looked at him in surprise.

"Yeah," he nodded. "Time travel."

"Holy shit," she sighed, and let out a small laugh of disbelief. "So, we can fix this?"

"In theory."

"But... Tony, that's amazing!" she stood up and smiled excitedly. "We can actually fix this and bring everyone back!"

"Lex," he held up his hand. "Lexie, slow down a sec."

"What?" she sat down again. "We have to do this, Tony... Erin and Peter, Sam, Wanda, we can bring them all back."

"I know, but think about this, Lexie... It's been five years. It hasn't been easy, but we've gotten through it. I have Pepper, and Morgan, and you. You have that weird cat of yours, you're helping Nat with leading the Avengers... You've grown up and built a life for yourself, and I'm so proud of you... I know you want Erin back, and don't get me wrong, all I want is for you to be happy. But... is getting back into this really the best choice? Risking everything all over again?"

"Yes," Lexie insisted. "Tony... I know what we'll be risking here, but... Think about it. We could fix this. Undo everything Thanos did. We know how now, so how can we not do it? You know that none of us will be able to sit back and not help now that we have a solution. Even if you may want to."

He sighed and put an arm around her shoulder, pulling her into a side hug. "I know... I'll come with you to the Compound tomorrow- God knows they won't be able to do this without me. Sound alright?"  he looked down at her.

"Yup," she grinned. "Thank you."

"Sure. Now get up," he stood up and extended a hand to pull her up. "You need to sleep. Big day tomorrow."

The next day, Tony was speeding towards the building with Lexie sitting in the shotgun seat.

"If we crash, I'm blaming you," Lexie stated, only receiving a chuckle in response.

In the distance they could see a person exiting the building, and, thanks to Tonys driving, they were soon pulling up in front of Steve.

Lexie stepped out of the car. "I convinced him, you're welcome," she grinned at Steve. "The others inside?" she asked, but didn't wait for an answer before entering the building, leaving them to talk it out.

Some hours later, several of the other Avengers had arrived. They were only waiting for Rocket, Bruce (who had undergone a severe makeover), and Thor. In the meantime, they'd been preparing for their mission. Going back, find the stones, bring them to 'now', and bring everyone back.

Easy-peasy.

After Thor and the others had arrived, and they were ready for the test run, several of the Avengers, including Lexie, were watching as Clint was gonna go back in time.

"All right, Clint," Bruce said. "We're going in three, two... one."

And with that Clint disappeared.

He arrived back a moment later.

"Lila!" he called the second he came back, crouching on the ground.

Natasha, Tony, Scott and Rocket ran forward to help him up, while the others exchanged a look.

It worked.

"I can't believe it actually worked," Rhodey muttered.

Lexie felt her stomach grumble and remembered that she'd barely eaten during the busy day. "I'm hungry," she said randomly, and turned to walk away.

Thor saw his way out and followed her, wanting to ignore the upcoming mission for as long as he could. "Come tiny friend, let's acquire Pop-Tarts."

And with that, they left to go to the kitchen, and raid it of all the sweets they could find before the meeting.

I finally got to use the Thor quote from the intro chapter to The Avengers. I never found a spot where it could fit in and this was kinda the final place I could add it. I feel like it kinda makes sense too, considering Thors state at the time what with him being depressed and wants to just avoid anything and everything that has to do with the battle against Thanos.

I haven't had a very great week, so I haven't been able to do any writing, but I'm hoping to finish writing Endgame this weekend or the beginning of next week. I have a lot coming up and I don't know how I'll be doing mentally because of that, so I just want to get the stress of finishing the book out of the way before that. I'll still be updating on my normal schedule though, don't worry.

Hope you have a great weekend <3
