A/N:There's an important question at the end of the chapter.

They were on their way to Wakanda, where they had the technology to remove the stone from Vision. Only Steve had been there before, apparently having put Bucky there, and Lexie was kind off looking forward to seeing the country and its peoples use of vibranium.
Unfortunately, they weren't there for sightseeing, and the impending fight was an effective killer of any excitement she could have felt.
They were about halfway there according to Steve, and they were all mentally preparing for whatever was to come. No-one really spoke, and if a small conversation took place, they'd speak in low voices so they didn't disturb the others. And although on opposite ends of the helicarrier, Lexie noticed Natasha and Bruce kept stealing glances at each other when the other wasn't looking.
Lexie herself had been texting Erin while trying to gather the courage to walk over and sit down next to Steve. She knew she needed to talk to him, and time was certainly running out considering none of them knew how this was going to end.
She didn't want to have an unresolved conflict with someone she cared a lot about just in case anything were to happen to one of them.
She'd been looking over at him periodically. He was sat near the back of the plane. He wasn't on his phone or computer like most of the others were; he was just staring into thin air, brows furrowed slightly as he sat hunched forwards with his elbows resting on his knees.
She finally stood up and moved over to where he was sitting. "That suit's not very 'Captain America'-y," she chose as her opening, internally scolding herself for not coming up with anything better.
He looked up at her, surprised that she was there, but made sure not to show it so she didn't regret speaking to him and ran off. "Becoming a criminal and a fugitive isn't very 'Captain America'-y either," he replied, following her lead. It seemed to work, because she sat down next to him and offered a small smile.
"You're right... Should've kept the helmet though. That was a good look."
"No, it wasn't," he chuckled slightly.
"It really wasn't," she agreed as her smile widened. They both sobered up slightly, the ice was broken and it was time to get to the subject. "I missed you," she confessed quietly, not making eye-contact.
He sighed and smiled gently at her. "I can't apologize for not signing the Accords. I thought it was the right choice back then, and I still do now. I couldn't sign it." He took a small break, trying to find the right words, before continuing. "I am sorry for hurting you though. I'm sorry for not trying harder to find a common ground and figure something out with Tony..." He sighed deeply, she still wasn't looking at him, just fiddling with a silver bracelet on her wrist. "Lexie... You're one of the last people I'd want to hurt or put in danger, and I'm really sorry for doing both. We should've been able to find a better way to go about things, where no-one got hurt."
