Chapter 8

TRIGGER WARNINGS: RAPE. SEXUAL ASSAULT.

Mays POV

I'm in Hikaru's church, except this one was destroyed. I'm surprised it's still standing. I stand just inside the entrance, rubble everywhere. I walk in but no one notices. I take in the scene in front of me. Mom, much younger, stood with Archer and in front of them a Caster class servant. A man who I assumed was her master off to the side.

I see mom look at Archer, "Are you ready, Archer?"

"I am." He nods, "As planned then, Rin?"

"Yes. Don't hold back. I'm using everything I've got" I see her hold up four runes between her fingers, the look on her face determined.

Red spheres appear around Caster "How adorable. You think you have a chance against me, one on one?" She rises up, the spheres going in all directions, "Are you forgetting my trump card?"

At this point, I go to take cover behind a standing column, where I feel safe but can still see everything, only then noticing Saber. That's her trump card. I think to myself, What is happening?

"With my command seals, I can make her my puppet now"

Mom stands with her hands on her hips, "Even if you use a command seal on her, Saber would be able to resist it. I don't know if it would be for one minute or two, but that's more than enough time to take down the likes of you!" I see her throw the runes at Caster, them coming at her like magic bullets.

A lights show starts up as I try to keep up with what's unfolding in front of me. What was he trying to show me?. Caster deflects mom's bullets with her own magic before a blinding white light comes from a jewel thrown in Caster's direction "A distraction?!"

"I'll start by pulling you down from there!" Mom goes to fire Gandr shots at Caster before her master comes at her, Mom calling for Archer.

In all the dust and smoke, I see Archer's red shroud move. Finally, he's going to do something. I watch with bated breath, hoping this was the whole point of this whole thing.

I see him come between mom and Caster's master and push her back away from him, with such force that she lands in a heap in some rubble.

I feel my fists clench as I watch, wanting so bad to do something but I'm merely a bystander watching a memory.

Mom manages to sit up with a slight groan, looking at Archer in confused disbelief "Huh? Archer?" She goes to fire another Gandr shot at Caster's master and it's swiftly deflected by Archer's blade. Ok, the fuck is he doing? If he's trying to piss me off, it's working. I take a breath to try and calm my extremely frayed nerves, There's gotta be a point to showing me this? I tell myself.

Mom glares at him, "What do you think you're doing, Archer?"

"You see, defeating her here struck me as idealistic. When it comes to escaping, she's the best there is. After all, She's a woman who would tear apart her own younger brother to escape."

Caster drops her guard, "You talk as though you know all about me. Do you know my true identity?"

Ok, Ok Get to the point already! I protest. I tune out the meaningless jabber until I see him walk up to Caster. I watch curiously, wondering what he's doing.

"If I may ask, Caster, do you still have reserves to spare?"

Mom's jaw drops, "Archer, are you...?"
