This morning was an entertaining one. First of all, Willy took Jordan's painkillers instead of his vitamins. He took way too many, and so the poor boy was going crazy.
"I can't feel my legs, I can't walk, you have to help me," he begged everyone for the seventh time. The thing was, he stood while telling us this.
"Wills, you're standing already," I told him again. He looked down and started to cry. "Oh, you're right, I can walk again! Call the papers," he yelled before running to his room.
We also met the school's team. They were all lovely, but I liked Darren most. He was shy, kind, and awkward. I watched him walk to his idol Mark in a robot-like way and laughed way too loud. Secondly, he was very interested in Jordan, even though he attempted to hide it. Luckily, he was in a way better mood than yesterday.
Jordan still refused to talk about what happened at the base, so once we were alone outside, I decided to ask him.
"Jor?" He stopped walking. "Oh no, that's your serious voice," he said nervously. I chuckled. "Don't worry princess, I'm not going to break up with you." He pouted when I called him that. We walked to the football field to see the school team play. Our team was catching up on sleep, so we couldn't be bothered. Our presence didn't go unnoticed. Darren was so focused on us that he didn't see a ball coming. He got hit on his head and fell. We were still too far away to be heard. I leaned against the fence.
"What happened exactly, back at the base?" Jordan froze. "I tried to escape and was put somewhere more secure," he said while actively avoiding my gaze. I sighed defeated.
"That's all? You never saw anyone?" He shook his head a bit too hard. "What about your clone? You've got any idea what that was all about?" This time when he shook his head, I did believe him. Jordan knew I didn't believe his first answer, I could feel it.
"I ran into some old friends," he said a couple of seconds later. "Sweetheart, that's all of Alius," I pointed out with a grin. He giggled, and my heart began to beat twice as fast. He was so fucking cute. He opened his mouth to answer, but my phone rang. I sighed frustrated.
"What." The irritated tone in my voice made Jordan chuckle, and I gave him my middle finger.
"Hello there, miss DiLauris," a robot-like voice spoke, "looks like you and your alien are having a good time." My hands started to tremble, there was only one person who this could be. Jordan took my free hand, and it calmed me down a bit.
"Who is this?" I asked anyway. Jordan pressed his ear against my phone too.
"Darling please, you know who I am." My shoulders dropped. I wanted it to stop so bad. I should probably hang up, I thought to myself. But for some reason I couldn't move my hand, I wasn't even able to speak.
"You are silent as a grave," he chuckled. I shivered at his words. "Jordan, I assume you're listening to me as well. Tell me, how are you feeling? A little birdie told me that you've been beaten up pretty bad."
Something in Jordan snapped. "I swear to God, you coward, when I find you, and I will, I'll skin you alive," he hissed.
"Oh Janus, that's so cute. You know, you two have luck on your side for sure. I mean, those guards were going to kill you. If it weren't for someone's sentiment, you would have been buried by now." The joy in his voice was sickening. My voice finally returned.
"How do you know that?" T sniggered at my question. "Are you really expecting me to answer that? Ridiculous, desperate girl." Nobody spoke, the stalker only laughed.
"A threat is coming any moment right now. If you're as heroic as you claim, you'll help the little football boys in front of you. Raimon's away, you two are the only present right now. Have fun." Then he ended the call.
