It started to rain, just when I forgot my umbrella at, well, Umbrella Jr. High. Soon my hair stuck to my face, and my teeth wouldn't stop chattering. But despite that I did like the rain. It made me feel alone, but in a good way. I could finally think without sixteen people yelling in my ears.
The sky turned grey, leaving a dark glow behind. I shivered, my clothes were soaked. The water slid over my face, now it became too cold. And as if it wasn't bad enough yet, a truck drove through a huge puddle, leaving me alone to spit out the water. It felt like I was swimming, my sight was blurry due to the drops in my lashes. Then it became dry. I looked above me and saw there was a red umbrella. At my right, a boy with a hoodie held the thing. 'T- thank you so much,' I managed to say. He pushed the handle in my hand as a no problem and walked away. And in that brief moment I noticed a little scar on his wrist, it had the shape of an x. 'Wait!' But the stranger disappeared into the crowd and became invisible again.
Later that day we got a new coach and player called Victoria. I liked Tori, but the coach was bitchy. She acted like the guys were pussies. They aren't.
I heard a scream and turned around to see Todd scream at a spider. "Oh God, the aliens are going to kill us," I sighed when the coach and I were attending the training. She gave me no reaction.
A few days later we had to play again. It wasn't bad, not awful, even the word terrible didn't justify the event. Not just because we lost with 0-32, but Little Tommy found me. Little Tommy was a man that didn't like me to say at least. We have what you call a difficult relationship. It all had to do with some misunderstanding from a year ago.
I walked down the streets, but when I was about to cross the zebra crossing a huge man on a motor raced towards me. '
What the actual fuck!' I yelled after almost being hit. 'Shut up you stupid bitch!' I raised my brow and walked to the huge man in his leather clothing. The name Little Tommy was stitched on his jacket. 'Say that again.' I studied my fake nails, who were forcefully glued on by Celia. After seeing an officer, I scratched them over his expensive-looking motor, while looking at him with a daring glance in his eyes. 'You bitch!' I pretended to be shocked and gasped. 'Mister policeman, this guy is going to hurt me, help!' I used my famous puppy eyes and damsel in distress voice, and a few minutes later he was charged for mistreatment. Unfortunately there was no actual physical damage, so the three years prison became one. But he promised me one thing. 'When I will be freed, I'll kill you, mark my words! I have a whole motor club you know!' I smiled. 'And I have my disturbing personality. Can't wait to see you again love.'
And that's the thing I shouldn't have said. We just played the first half of the game when Sylvia pointed out the roaring sound of a motorcycle.
'What's that,' I bluntly said. 'It's time to pay your debt bitch!' At that moment all I did was laugh, probably due to my period. In that time I laugh about every single thing. I turned around.
'Tommy! Guys, this is Little Tommy, my best mate.' Willy seemed to be very upset. 'Little Tommy? That man is a giant!' I shrugged. 'He picked the name himself.' The biker snorted. 'Mate? You destroyed my fucking motor!' Every word was said louder. The aliens had no clue what was going, and I wanted to explain it. But before I could I got slapped in my face. The blood dripped out of my nose. I didn't get hit often, only by Nelly but that doesn't count. The pain flared up with an intensity unlike ever before, never in my life a wound hurt this much. 'You disgusting prat,' Kevin grumbled and did an attempt to kick him. 'Kevin please, don't,' Mark said worried, but he had an angry expression. 'I'm gonna kill y'all, trust me!' He raised his arm, but before he could hurt someone, a ball pushed him ten meters further. Janus shot him, and yet he stood there like nothing was wrong. No one really knew what to say, we just stared at him in amazement. 'Let's continue,' he said coolly.
It was the end of the game, Mark got blown away by the Astro break. While the others rushed to him, I walked to the other side. And just when I crossed Janus, I whispered something I should've done earlier. 'Thank you.'
Later that day, to make it even worse, Axel had left the team. Kevin was a mess. He barely spoke or ate anymore. He missed him so much, it was heartbreaking.
I was just on my way home when I decided to go to the forest. I absolutely loved that place. The trees standing high, making you feel small, the chipmunks and the peace. You had an amazing view at one spot. Just when I was about to climb a high tree, I noticed someone sitting on a branch. I couldn't see well due to the shadows but knew it was him. The ice cream-shaped hair gave him away.
'Hello there human.' Janus was talking to me and I had no idea how to react. My instinct told me to run away, but then I'd look weak. How did he even know I was standing here? It must have been the noise I made. I leaned against a tree trunk and hid my shaking hands in my pockets.
'Hello,' I replied quietly. I wasn't sure if I had to go or not, so I just asked him the first question I could think of. 'why aren't you on your planet?' The boy looked down at me. 'Things get boring after a while. If I get bored by something, I just go and find something else. That's how we came here actually.' His eyes were doing it again. The look in his eyes, like he was better than anyone else. But I didn't mind looking into them. 'But I'll be gone soon, don't worry. I will throw this planet away. Well figuratively, but I have to admit that it's interesting out here.' I raised my brow. 'Don't you ever regret throwing something away?' He shook his head. 'I never make the wrong choice.'
'Sure, sure.' Janus raised his eyebrows. 'You don't believe me?' I shrugged. 'Well, helping me was very kind of you, but are you sure that blowing up schools is what you call, a good idea?' He narrowed his eyes, and jumped down from the tree, making dust blow up. It was kinda scary, to be honest. He walked determined in my direction, giving the most arrogant look. 'I didn't do it for you, that man was disturbing the game. But I have to admit woman, you have guts.' I smirked until Janus came closer. I stepped back but stood against a tree, now I was trapped. How fantastic. The space between his face and mine became less, and then I could even feel his breath.
'But you and your little team will never stand a chance against me.' I responded with a typical Mark reaction. 'I think that we are going to win someday,' I said with the last bit of courage I had left. 'I need to see it to believe it.' Then he disappeared into the purple mist.
'Whaaaaat?'
'Wait, are you sure it was him?' Kevin asked. I shrugged. 'Well, it could've been someone else with green hair in a pointy shape and a Gemini uniform, but that's unlikely.' He became grumpy again. 'Okay,' coach Lina said. 'I want to know exactly what happened.' I sighed. 'I hate to disappoint everyone, but it wasn't very interesting. We just had an argument about what team is better, that's all.' Jude looked up. 'There has to be something behind it, why didn't he harm you?' Mark interfered in the conversation. 'He was probably just sitting there, and when he saw you he wanted to scare you with words. Yes, that must be it!' The rest of the team agreed though I wasn't convinced myself. 'Now everyone has to go home, tomorrow will be a busy day.'
