'A romantic walk?' Nelly teased. Such an annoying woman. 'I'd love to tell you what happened but I don't think your innocent mind can handle it,' I said, my voice filled with sarcasm, and luckily it made her go away. 'Okay, pack your stuff, we have to go,' Sylvia ordered. 'On my way mama.' I went upstairs, crossed the statue and smiled. Jordan was one of the cutest guys I've ever met, that's for sure. Unfortunaly happiness doesn't stay forever.
Just when I walked down the principal knocked on the door. 'Hello sir,' Mark said politely. 'Hello young boy, I am here to give you something.' He handed over a box. 'We found it this morning, it's addressed to the team.' I observed it, the wrapping was plain ivory and decorated with a red ribbon. 'Thank you.' The man stumbled away. 'What would it be?' Jude mumbled. 'Yes, this is a bit vague.' We all stared at the box, wondering what it could be. Then it lit up, and my heart skipped a beat. 'Twinkle twinkle little star...' I stood there, frozen, hearing my own pulse. I knew the lyrics. 'You are my puppet once and for all.' My legs were trembling, and I let myself fall in a chair. I felt numb, not completely realizing what happened. No fear, no sadness, no anger, no emotions at all. 'Oh,' was all I could say. I pushed my thoughts away and focused on the team that just listened to the song that kept repeating itself. Mark laid his hands on it and tore the box open. As expected a teddybear came out of it. 'This can't be happening,' Todd muttered. 'I just can't believe it, I don't want to!' Nathan screamed, furious. 'What is this all about?' Shawn asked worried. I pulled the package to me, and found something else. 'Jack, Janus,' I said and pointed at the photo frame hidden under the doll. It was us, looking at the map and trying to figure out which path we should take. 'But we were alone,' Jack whispered. Jordan tilted his head. 'I'm afraid I don't understand what's going on.' Now everyone stared at me, waiting for a breakdown. It didn't happen, I was dazed. I pulled the case to me and got an envelope, not the one with the notes but clues like the painted wall and pictures. 'There you go.' That seemed to ring a bell by Janus. A few minutes later the two boys and girl came back, pale as snow. 'That is just-' Tori started, 'I know.'
It felt wrong in all sorts of ways. The sudden appearance of this package, the fact that he was back and something else. 'Wait a second, something's off, there is no note.' I held the thing upside down, shook with it as hard as possible and then threw it on the floor. 'Where is the fucking note?' I groaned, why was this happening? 'Maybe he just forgot it,' Mark suggested. Dumb idiot. 'Mark. He has been stalking me for six months. He broke into my house and knew everything me, us. T doesn't make mistakes.' Then another thing occured to me. 'I kept that bear, it's supposed to be in my locker.' I inspected the toy and found a label. 'Made in June, 2018. It's a new one.'
'So,' Jude mumbled. He had no idea what to say, and that meant something. 'Looks like he's back.' I heard Kevin sigh. 'Thank you for pointing out the obvious.' My lungs started to work again, pushing air through my throat. Weird gasps escaped, that strangely enough were gone soon. 'Rhona.' I was about to react but Nathan didn't let me. 'Rhona. Rhona Rhona! Do you hea-' 'I HEAR YOU, YOU IDIOT!'
'Does he have a name?' Jordan asked. I nodded. 'T.'
'Tea? What kind of name is that?'
'Not tea, T.'
'That's what I said.'
'The letter T.'
'Oh.' Then it finally hit him. 'He's the guy you were talking about earlier!' I raised my brow. 'Did you figure that out all by yourself? How spectacular.' The boy pouted. 'Huh?' I heard Jude say. A paper plane flew through the window. 'Well that's weird,' Tori stated. Jack catched the thing and folded it open. 'What a lovely time you must've had. -T,' he read. I frowed, this wasn't right. I took the paper and held it under a lamp. You could see a gloss over the ink. 'It's made recently, the ink is still wet.' I sighed, this was all so cunfusing, it didn't make any sense at all! 'Something's off, he never wrote before, it were typed messages. And then there is the blue ink. He hates blue, every time I wore something blue he commented on it.'
While Mark was investigating the note with his magnifying glass, I had to call detective Smith. 'Hello detective, I am afraid I have some bad news.' I heard a sigh from the other side. 'I've been expecting this,' he muttered. 'Wait, what? Why do you think that?' He never was the open type, always searching for prove before giving information away. 'Because we both know that he isn't a person that gives up. I'm afraid we have been fooled.' My head began to pound and I felt like there was a huge weight hanging around my neck. 'Well ehm,' I stammered, 'What are we going to do?' 'We have to re-open our investigation, but the problem is that I am in the middle of another one. I think it is for the best that you go home for now and search for clues.' I frowned. 'Isn't that your job?' I got no answer, he ended the call. 'Terrific.'
The team and I were on our way home when the news came. 'I'm afraid I got some bad news. Ray Dark escaped and made a new team, Royal Academy Redux.' Jude's reaction was horrible. His fists were clinched and though his eyes were covered I knew they were filled with fury. 'We have to stop them,' Mark yelled, 'we can't let him destroy everything!'
'Yeaaah! let's bury that guy once and forever,' I exclaimed. 'Not you.' Of course the coach had to ruin our group moment, I should've seen it coming. 'It is for the best that you and mister Smith are going to figure out what is happening.' A gloomy feeling replaced my anger. 'I'm coming with you.' I turned to Jordan. 'But what if he will come visit me?' He raised one eyebrow. 'That is exactly why I won't let you go alone.' Aphrodi laid his hand on Jordans shoulder. 'I'm coming too! I smiled. 'Okay then, I shall inform my parents.'
'Hello dad, how are you?'
'I should ask that question, your coach informed me, this is terrible! You didn't go outside alone, did you?' I chuckled. 'No, don't worry. See the problem is, I am going home to investigate, but the team cannot come with me. I know this is a shock, but you know who Janus is right?' There was a silence, and I prepared for the worst. 'He's one of the aliens right? Didn't look too good after the game, how is he feeling?' I shouldn't be surprised, father was always like this. 'Fine actually, he sits next to me at the moment. But anyway, he insists on coming with me, so can he stay with us for a little while?' I heard someone speaking in the background. 'Your mom and I think that is a lovely idea.' I sighed relieved. 'By the way, Byron Love, also known as Aphrodi will be there as well.' And without waiting for an answer I clicked on the red button.
